The Exit button didn't work for me.  I exit and Viber came back instantly.  Same thing happens when I kill the Viber task.  Meaning it's always there unless I uninstall it... the previous version would stay killed if I kill it.  Just an observation.  And Update Contact List has improved. Samsung Ace 2.2.

i also notice this..but my case is after i press exit, its gone..however if someone msg me or call me, it will suddenly pop out again then appear as notification back.. sometime, if i connect back my data connection or wifi, it will also pop out occasionally.. then i hv to press exit again.. rclxub.gif

@Dannyl -
We haven't gotten reports of misfunctionality of the Exit button yet.
Are you using a custom ROM that might be causing your problem?

@Hico -
Viber pops up when you receive a call/text thanks to C2DM mechanism (similar to Push Notifications in iPhone).
This mechanism is used in many other apps as well, and it makes sure you are available to get texts/calls (otherwise - the point of the app is gone).
In order to disable your C2DM service, please contact Google - it's run by them.

On another note - could you please elaborate on the other scenario you described, with Viber running when you turn your WiFi on?

@dust -
Landscape mode is in the works these days.

@kuro0314 -
You need cellular reception only when registering, so we can send you the confirmation SMS with your code. After that, basically you can use your Viber on WiFi only. As HeartRoxas mentioned, you can also use it on 3G, but it uses MB from your data plan (0.5MB per minute of call). The amount you pay for your data is decided between you and your cell company, and has nothing to do with us. If you have a monthly pre-paid data plan, then you can use Viber freely without any concern of extra charges. WiFi,  of course, is always free (and usually better for Viber calls).

yes..once i connect thru WIFI it will auto pop out and appear on top. but it does not happen everytime.. it is like 3 times out of 5 times around that.

so thats mean even press exit, it actually still run behind? After i uninstall the viber, the battery problem solved.. even though i just put my handphone in standby from 12am to 8am .. hmm.gif

and i also notice one thing.. after i press exit..sometime the icon above will disappear.. but sometime it will still there with service disconnect.. then i have to enter viber and press exit again.. why is that so?

from what i understand, viber is now using a 'method' that supposedly makes it not run as a service at all... its what viber said is the C2DM mechanism. from what i understand, it means that viber will not run in the background. however, when a message or call comes in, then the server will somehow send this signal via this C2DM mechanism to our phone to activate viber. this way, we can then receive the call or message.

but how abt the battery consumption? i noticed huge different btw without installing viber and with viber even though click exit..the battery still drain faster than normal.. rclxub.gif

i noticed that after i click 'exit', then viber disconnect and disappear from my phone's notification bar.. but then, less than 5 minutes, it automatically connect back again on top of it.. why is it like this? no one msg me also at that time. and when i use the voice call by viber thru wifi, the opposite person cant hear me clearly and said that my voice is so soft. i have already adjust to max the mic.. .

Hi all,

About GPS inaccuracy - indeed, as mentioned above, Viber uses the phone's native GPS abilities in order to send/receive locations. There may be a slight margin of error, depending which tower captures your location. viber has no control of this. The information received by the tower is then displayed back to your device within Google maps. The margin of error may be 1 to 100 meters +/-. Within large populated areas, with stable state-of-the-art GSM capabilities, the location awareness will have a greater accuracy.

@mydragoon -
Please make sure both sides have the latest version of Viber installed.

@Hico -
About the first problem - please try to uninstall Viber then reinstall (from Market). Does the problem persist?
About the soft-volume problem - it sounds more like a problem with your friend's device, not yours. What device is he using? Is he using a Custom  ROM?
Also, did HE make sure his volume settings are all the way up?

my fren is using the original rom. i tested on other phone, i also notice the sound is quite soft even though i set it to max.. and actually i also cant really hear the voice clearly from him .. i try on 3 phone all give the same result..

i also try reinstall few time the viber app.. yet it still come the same..always reconnect back eventhough i click exit already..

Hmm....
This might be a problem specifically with your phone.

What device exactly are you using? which version of Android, and are you using a Custom ROM?
*
i was using 2 unit of s2 and galaxy note to test on it.. that time, original rom from s2 and note, and one custom rom for another s2..all the same result.. but the voice is like a while louder then become softer again.. but its not that louder actually.. just can hear a bit better..

Hi,
When you use Viber, you can tell indirectly if your contact is online as follows:

When you make a Viber call, you will first see "Calling". It will change to "Ringing" if your contact is online and their phone is literally ringing.
When you text, "Delivered" means the message has been received on the other side's phone (they're online). If you only see "Sent", it means it's been sent from you, but pending the other side to come online (they're offline at the moment).

We invite you to enter our Feature Request page and post your suggestion there, or join an existing similar suggestion (it's very easy and quick!). The more people join on a request, the faster it will become reality smile.gif

You can find it here: http://helpme.viber.com/Knowledgebase/Arti...r-a-new-feature

@Hico -

Have you made sure that this isn't a connection issue on either side of the call?
Please test Viber when connect to a few different WiFi networks. Does the problem persist?

@azrash -

About the freeze: thank you for the report of the problem.

We would appreciate if you could take a minute and report the details to our support team using this direct link: http://bit.ly/ukGVJ0 (when you submit the ticket, please make sure to add the URL of our conversation). With this information, our development team will hopefully be able to find the source of the problem, and ultimately resolve it.

Thanks in advance smile.gif

i have tested with wifi and 3g data connection..this mostly happen during the first call ....then after the first call pop out there is a miss call for me, then the problem gone.. but if i open the viber stay in the viber before the person call, then this problem does not happen.. i also face the freeze problem occasionally.. after the new update, the freeze problem reduce but still come back once or twice per month..
