Dear all,
In regards of changing HDD, RAM, etc, MSI Malaysia will still honour the warranty as long as it does not effect other parts of the Laptop. Therefore if the warranty sticker is tampered, no worries, just let us know that you upgraded the HDD, RAM yourself and it will be ok. But the best you do the upgrading in a dealer side as they will be able to keep track. Nevertheless, the statement above can be considered as an official announcement from us. Do call us @ 1300-22-1986, MSI Malaysia Office.

I did not buy my MSI GE 620 DX from IT fair. I bought mine at Lowyat on 8 October 2011, around 1PM - 3PM, there is a shop in front of All IT Hypermart selling the laptop. The salesperson told me that MSI Malaysia provide on-site warranty for 2 years. I do not know how you guys monitor the dealers, but it seems you aren't. So now MSI is trying to blame on dealers, and right now I am very confuse with your after sales service. I know, if I were to send this laptop to MSI, its going to take few months. I have few experiences with you guys edi, ask ur partner MSI-MY.

I'll give u a pm.

Dear rd33,
First of all, i would like to apologize on behalf of MSI Malaysia. Here i would like to share with Lowyat.NET community that MSI Malaysia does not provide any extended warranty or onsite warranty. All our notebooks come with 1-2 years warranty only and customer is required to send in to our ASP, unless your location does not have our ASP. And do take not that our notebook ASP is different from our component ASP. Anything above that is not provided by us. Lately a lot of dealers start selling their own extended RMA solution regardless of what brand. Such RMA solution/pack is not by MSI and anyone could check if they have bought it. In this case, it was really unfortunate that our dealers passed the wrong information saying that MSI Malaysia provides onsite-warranty. We believe that it's a misunderstanding here. Ok, that's our part on the explanation. And now the most important part is the solution. We would need your help to send us as much details or better a soft copy of the receipt and the on-site warranty card (if any). With this, we could identify the dealer and investigate further. We are really sorry for the inconvenience caused. If the response from our dealer is too long, we will take our own initiative to pick-up your unit by tomorrow and send it to our ASP on your behalf.

Once again rd33, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. Rest be assured, i'll personally look into this matter and make sure everything goes smoothly.

Dear agewisdom,
Thanks for your suggestion. It's really a good suggestion and we will look into it. Perhaps i can advice a little here abit and perhaps people here can treat it as an official announcement. I'll try to keep it simple and easy to understand.

1. The standard warranty for MSI Notebook is 2 years while MSI Netbook is 1 year.
2. The warranty period starts from the day you purchase. Therefore the receipt is the ultimate reference for your warranty period.
3. In cases where our customer lost their receipt, we will trace the manufacturing date and it will replace the receipt as the ultimate reference.
4. The last reference is from your product registration online.
5. For RMA cases, customer can walk-in to our ASP, E-Maintenance which cover almost nationwide. http://my.msi.com/service/msinewmap/
6. MSI Malaysia does not provide on-site warranty but we do provide on-site pick up if customer is located far from our service center.
7. Our warranty procedure for Notebook is different from Component. For component, customer has to go back to reseller. Reseller may help you to RMA it on your behalf. If they do not, then they will advice you to send to which disti for RMA.
8. Components RMA is handled by local disti and they will send it to our ASP, which is a local ASP.

Dear tongaz86,
I'm sorry that currently our dealers from JB has not ordered GE620. While courts only has GT683. I'll update you once there's a dealer order it. Cheers.

I hope that clarifies enough.

Dear all,
Seems like what ALeUNe said is pretty true and we decided to do it. Here's is the first wave of announcement before we confirm the procedure with our ASP.

1. Full HD Panel = RM300 (Cost to be paid to MSI)
2. Labor Charge = RM80-RM100 (Cost to be paid to ASP)
3. Customer who decide to change the LCD Panel themselves will void the warranty.
4. I'll personally help out for customer who wants to upgrade the LCD Panel. Customer can PM me and i'll notify the preferred ASP so that there won't be any further communication/explanation needed. As this is the first time we do something like this. ASP may be confused if customer walk-in and wants to upgrade a LCD Panel.

That's all what we can do. Thanks for still keeping faith with us.

That's the latest spec. Some dealers have old stock with 1GB VGA. So do check to purchase to latest spec. The processor is correct, which is upgraded to i7-2670.

Dear Batusai,
Actually we did mention before there will be a price change on February before. But no worries, for your case we already put it in the list together with Swordsmen as we remember you are among the first few who would upgrade the Full HD upgrade. We understand that you are currently in oversea and will only be able to proceed with the upgrade this coming February. Sorry for the misunderstanding caused.

Dear All

For your information, the "Warranty Void" sticker has it purpose.
Initially, once the sticker is torn, the warranty will void.

But, to ease our customer, that would like to change/add HDD or RAM, we will still accept unit that

1- Harddisk changed
2- RAM Changed/Added

If the sticker is torn but no HDD and RAM upgrade found, the unit will not be covered by warranty. It is best for you to ask your dealer (that you bought your laptop from) and upgrade it for you.

Hope this is clear.

so if i want to clear some dust i have to bring it to msi to do it?
*
Dear noobfc

Please take note that our service center wont accept if there is no problem with your unit.
However, if the dust piled up, i believe the unit will be "hot" and "overheat"
So, if your unit encounter issue above, you can send to our service center for servicing

I believe most model from other brand also practice the same, that end user dont have access to clean the heatsink.
