Please read the manual that comes with the iPhone. It's given to you for a reason and for you to understand the functions of the iPhone. Even Maxis and Digi provide a guide book stating where the speaker and mic is.

i have iphone4 and alienware m11x, my question is, how do you connect the alienware m11x to iphone4 using iphone4 hotspot for wireless broadband? thank you.

open setting>personal hotspot>turn on
u can connect ur lappy with ur iphone using wifi/bluetooth or usb...u can change the wifi password if u want to connect the phone using wifi..if u want to connect using usb, just plug ur iphone with usb cable to the laptop and choose to connect using usb only...the connection will launch automatically..and u can surf website after that.. cheers

You need to ensure that your cellular data (either Edge or EDGE & 3G) is switched on before you can switch on the personal hotspot. Follow the instruction once the personal hotspot is switched on and you should be able to connect your Alien thingamajig with the iPhone 4

yup...forgot to state it before...on cellular data and 3g before u can use the personal hotspot...

u wanna buy the phone with the plan or the phone only??if u just wanna buy the phone the retail price for 16gb is rm2190 and for 32gb is rm2590...better for u to buy the phone with the plan..u can choose either u wanna to buy from maxis,celcom or digi...the price of the phone will be lower when u buy when the plan(contract)...

You can port in to the respective telco. It's called MNP. Just go to any centre and tell them you wanna port in.

no u dont. nowadays u can transfer any number between any malaysian carrier. e.g. u have a celcom number but want to buy digi iphone, u can port ur number to digi and get the iphone plan. no need to change number

just keep in mind u would want a data plan to go with ur phone

nope..u can use the same number by using MNP options...u can retain ur number by using MNP options n u can buy the phone n subscribe with the plan without need to change to a new number...cheers

better for u to buy the phone with the plan..

question. my desktop's wireless isn't working, and my usb wifi dongle is on it's way

but im wondering is there any way to share the internet connection of a wifi-connected iphone, to a PC, by USB cable? essentially turning my iphone to a temporary wifi usb dongle. w/o resorting to jailbreak

if u want to use personal hotspot thru usb cable, just connect ur iphone with usb cable on the laptop, go to setting>personal hotspot>turn on
when the message pops out whether want to connect using wifi/bluetooth or usb only, just hit usb only and u will automatically connected to internet...BTW make sure ur cellular data n 3g is on...

I think what dvlzplayground is asking if the PC can use the Wifi connection of the iPhone (not the iPhone's celullar connection). I'm not sure if this kind of "bridging" is available via the iPhone. I haven't tried it by the way. The personal hotspot for the iPhone can only be activated if the Celullar data/3G is enabled so I have a suspicion that it's specific for the Cellular/3G data sharing.

can no problem.since you signed contract,they will keep on charging you on the mobile internet plan (on which plan you signed up).
by default they will charge for your iPhone Data Plan.This is the reason why they ask to signed plan just like other countries.

can. but if u sign up for an iphone4 plan, celcom will give u a microSIM instead the normal SIM card, which is too small for ur sensation. buy an adapter first.

i think iOS 4.3.4 does not improve the battery drain issue after using it for few days

What battery drain issue are you having? I find that 4.3.3 is fine (I've installed some Winterboard theme so that has cause the battery to drain a bit faster but when I didn't have it before, 4.3.3 was fine)

im using 3GS
and have been experiencing terrible battery drain since 4.3

sometimes when i wake up my phone
it will reduce few % of batt at one go

other than that, even on 100%
after using fb or safari or games a while
around 70-90%
it will suddenly off
and the phone itself is quite hot

sometimes when i try to on the phone back
it says no battery and ask me to charge
even it auto off when around 70-90% battery level

I think it has something to do with your battery dying. You may need to look at the option of getting a new battery.

and im aware of the things u mentioned

turn off push
reduce brightness
sign out app store
disable ping
and many more

but was in vain

the problem is the issue arised after 4.21 upgraded to 4.3

p/s: i couldn't find anyone who provide the battery replacement service in Penang. Can anyone help me with it? I might overlook

hi, may I know if I buy the iphone4 from Maxis with their data plan, the iphone itself is a unlocked (sim free) set or locked set? Can I use for other telco although I buy from Maxis? TQ

the malaysian set is an official unlocked set..if u buy from maxis u can use other telco sim on it coz its sim free....

ALL iPhone sold by the Operators in Malaysia is factory unlocked so you can buy from Maxis/Celcom/Digi and use it with any Operators you like.

There's a thread somewhere about iPhone repair shops, you might want to search the thread. Maybe there's a shop in Penang which can do what you need to do to replace the battery.

I'm having this problem. I sync my iPhone my lappy (the time shown was not correctly adjusted). Then, I found my phone also followed my lappy's time. Before this, I set my phone to automatically date and time to "on". When I set it off, i adjusted my phone manually. Then, I sync my phone to my pc with the correct time, no change with the time. But when i turn it to "on" again, the phone's time will went wrong again.

Any suggestion on how to solve it?

Problem with 3G services because i'm using gevey sim.. When turn on 3G services that carrier become no sim..
So anyone had any solution and had a gevey sim can support 3G services..

Why you need to install that when you have RemoveBG? People are recommending removeBG and you kept asking for futures? Seriously, never heard on that app before.

Oh, plug in iTunes. Right click "iPhone name on your left". Select "backup". That is all.

Can last for sure after you changed, no worries man. I charge my iPhoney all the time while playing games. Just that remember to unplug before answering any incoming calls. Later kena shock susah.

That's not too bad. Hope this time your battery last okay. Who did you send the iPhone 3Gs to? Could help some other Penang user if he/she needs the same service.

I went to BJ complex and there got alot of shops offering hardware services
it depends on which u choose
but the one I went charged me RM95

while my friend told me he can get for RM80 but he is not available when im there

p/s: I pm`ed few forumer for the battery replacement and 1 replied me the ori is expensive around 200-300

Play games while charging no issue for me. But don't play for 24/7 non stop, one day the phone also can not tahan. Just charge it when your battery reaches maybe 50% ? Overnight charging for me is NO NO.

I think this Gevey thing is a bit of a mystery. I believe that you cannot use 3G with Gevey so you are out of luck my friend. Check out Gevey ultra. Maybe that one will allow 3G?

The latter option

Do this once a month. Let it drain the battery until 0% and the charge till it's full. That's my method of keeping the battery healthy.

how to noe whether it's 0%?

You will know because the phone will automatically shutdown and you won't be able to switch it on. And once you plug it in the charger, it will show an empty battery being recharged and it will take 2-3 minute before the Apple logo appears

Ermm, personally I have no issues charging it overnight. I do it all the time.

No not really. That would be too much of a hassle. I don't needbthe phone to be constantly at 100%. Even at 40% I don't worry too much about it.

and now already near 75%

A Lithium-ion battery (especially the Apple version) charges to 80% within an hour and then probably another hour to achieve the extra 20% for the 100% charge.

So the battery seems to be responding like it should.

Guys... I've just had a 1 - 1 exchanged for my iPhone 4 due to my home button being unresponsive....

And now, I could not download an app on my iPhone using cellular data, it just shows "waiting" forever.... However, it could work while using Wi-Fi...

I've tried reseting it and restoring it....

Are there any other solutions available?

I doubt any dock will work with a bumper. If you still want to use the bumper with the dock, you'd probably need to use the AUX auxiliary connection which then defeats the purpose of you buying the Dock

not possible unless your iphone is already jailbroken and installed sbsetting.

Not that I know of. This is one of the reason I don't use the bumpers anymore (just a screen protector at the back and front of the device).

Well i can say its OEM from China Assembly and lasting about 2 days.

Hi everyone. Has anyone noticed that the Appstore download & login are extremely slow (and failing most of the time) since about a week ago?

It is happening on these devices :
1) iPhone 4
2) iPad2
3) iTunes on Windows7

I am using Maxis Broadband + the MiFi device (have also tried an Aztech USB modem; same result). The internet speed for all other activities (web surfing, YouTube, emails, etc) are all OK. Speedtest.net is reporting >2Mbps download most of the time.

On Apple Appstore, listing/searching of apps are fast (normal); however when I try to login, it will take a long time/fail. If I am already login, then the app download will take a long time (usually >15 min) before it will begin (and then proceeding slowly; failing very often).

Oddly enough, updating of my subscribed podcasts (iTunes on Win7) are still speedy (as usual).

Ever since apple sever hits 1million download for their new OSX Lion.
That could be a reason behind this heavy traffic in mean time.

Problem Encountered : iTunes could not back up the iPhone because the backup could not be saved on the computer.
Steps Taken So Far : plug to computer directly without any usb hub, using original cable, remove old backup
Other Information/Remarks : previously get this also but solved after doing a clean new restore and lose all my game save data.

Added on July 26, 2011, 12:38 amHe is on 4.3.4 and not jailbroken (not sure if he has jailbroken before) so suggesting him to restore to 4.3.3 will probably cause him to get unnecessary errors.

Did you do this --> delete the "corrupted" backup in iTunes which can be found here

iTunes>Preferences(under the edit menu if using Windows)>Devices...your backups are listed here. You can highlight them, then hit the delete button

If you have done the above and it's still not working, then something is wrong somewhere ....
