Hi folks. I have just finished my Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Majoring in Telecommunications from MMU. I have decided to pursue my Master's Degree in one of the two universities and they already accepted me. The problem is I am still confused which one to go for as each of them has its own pros and cons. So I would welcome any suggestion from ppl who have experience.
1) UKM - This is my initial choice for doing Masters as it only requires 1 year to complete. 24 core + 12 elective = 36 credit hours to complete throughout the course. The fees is roughly around RM7k for the whole course and since it is located in Bangi, the cost of living is much cheaper too. (Computer and Communication Engineering)
2) UM - It takes minimum 1.5 years to complete with 24 core + 18 elective = 42 credit hours. The fees is much more expensive as it costs around RM16k to complete and the cost of living will definitely be higher too. (Telecommunication Engineering)
In terms of course structure, I'm slightly more interested in UKM course as it offers some computer-related subjects as opposed to mostly tele-related topics in UM. However, since UM is the premier U in Malaysia, will getting a Masters degree from UM be more accepted when I'm looking for job later?
Thank you.

Choose based on the course that is more appropriate for you... Uni ranking difference between the two is minimal....make probably no impact in employability...

Thank you UM weekend 9am-6pm UKM same modus UPM weekdays 6pm-9pm, weekends 2 hour class Do note that, UKM you will have to write your master thesis in BM instead of standard english. QUOTE(Irzani @ May 18 2014, 02:44 PM) either UKM is too cheap .. or it's a typo Among the top 3 uni, UM, UKM and UPM UM is most expensive but i think with the facilities especially labs in UM, the price speak for itself UKM cheapest, facilities also ok just the thesis in BM turn me off. Who in this era still use BM as main language for thesis? UPM is in the middle, around 15-18k, fully english. UPM and UKM is close by also. Classes however is on weekdays after working hours and weekends if any all 3 uni carter for working ppl

Are you talking about UKM executive program? If I'm not mistaken, there are two types of postgraduate program, one by Pusat Kembangan Pendidikan and another one by faculty itself. Confuse liao
