I'd like to see KD Field Jack Robinson against Walcott this Saturday. Remember the debut he had at the Emirates stadium? He really shut the Arsenal fans up. That kid has a nerve of steel. I prefer him than rather than Flanno.
*
jack robinson played at leftback..u want him instead of jose enrique?? rolleyes.gif

its not his debut laaa..he already made his debut while under Rafa at anfield

Technically speaking yes, under Rafa he made his debut but it was during last season's game we saw his true potential. Not to say that I'd not prefer Jose Enrique, but I really like that kid. He has focus that not even the senior players have.
*
the thing bout kids is,once they make a mistake their confidence will be low plus with all the criticism from our fans,it will be a nightmare..just ask jon flanagan..unless we dont have a choice, yup i agreed jack robinson should start..but for now jose enrique all the way biggrin.gif

this is where the like of Flano, Robinson, Shelvey, Suso, Tony Silva, Raheem, Gulasci, Coady to prove their worth.. it is possible to see them growth better and besides playing in the reserve league, playing in europe against other european reserves team will significantly help to brush up their confidence and perform better on the field.. this can help our scouts to take a look at other exciting young & promising players to be part of Liverpool FC in near future..
*
read that sporting players on average are 1-2 years older than our reserve..is it true?..if it is there still hope for our reserve..predicting sterling, wisdom, adorjan, suso to break thru our 1st team..hopefully! rolleyes.gif

For all the hype about our youths, this is quite a disappointing result. It showed that our youths is not as good as we like to think.
Read that we played quite well though obviously not as good as sporting which is disappointing to say, since the academy consist of players scouted far & wide who are deemed good enough to be recruited. I'm sure our resources + facilities are much better than Sporting.
For all the Figos, C ROn & nani, our academy did churn out the likes of Macca, God, Stevie, Carras.
*
u can learn much more from a defeat than a win..this defeat to sporting lisbon was way better learning curve than winning a game versus bolton reserves in terms of development

carroll was great during the first half

i hope enrique and downing will keep crossing the ball to him
*
i think with carroll our attacking play were predictable..give the ball to wide players & cross it to carroll's head...if its freekick,99% sure it will target carroll's head..when u against a good in the air CB like Vermaelen, that plan will fail miserably!...come on laaa we have other players who can head the ball too...once in a while give it to Agger laaaa shakehead.gif

To be honest, it was still under par.
Not a convincing win.

And where the hell is Aquilani!!!
Any1 who went to their pre-season in Bkt Jalil would probably be asking the same question!
He wasn't even on the bench!!!

Is this hinting that he'll be leaving soon? sad.gif

Liverpool plan shock return for Craig Bellamy and eye Sebastián Coates

• Anfield side also interested in Uruguayan defender

The striker could be joined at Anfield by Coates, the 20-year-old centre-half who was named best young player at this summer's Copa América where his performances for the tournament winners Uruguay – in the same team as Liverpool's Luis Suárez – increased interest from several Premier League clubs.

As the Guardian revealed last month, scouts from Arsenal, City and Liverpool all monitored the 6ft 6in Coates in Argentina, with Arsenal also believed to have watched the defender playing for his club side Nacional, the champions of Uruguay, a dozen times last season.

Liverpool, however, with the advantage of the Suárez connection, have emerged as Coates's most likely destination in the Premier League and could cost Fenway Sports Group, the club's owners who have already sanctioned a £110m recruitment drive this year, a fee of around £12m.

Coates was linked with a £3.5m transfer to Porto in June following the collapse of a proposed move to the Brazilian side São Paulo but his rise to prominence at the Copa América has since inflated Nacional's asking price. The central defender is one of the most highly rated young players in the game and, despite his lack of experience at international level, his Spanish and British ancestry is likely to assist any application for a work permit.

Liverpool are keen to strengthen their defence, especially after allowing Sotirios Kyrgiakos to join Wolfsburg on a free transfer. The Greece international could be followed out of Anfield by Alberto Aquilani, a target for Milan.

Sad to see Soto go. Glad we caught a glimpse of him playing in the flesh here in KL.  Wish we had him a couple of seasons earlier. He did a terrific job holding up our defence during a short spell last season, and he could score too - thanks Soto and all the best!

On a more exciting note (sorry if this was already mentioned earlier today), there's talk that Liverpool is trying to bring back Craig Bellamy. I've always felt that he could have contributed much more when he was with the Reds. He will provide a good option to KD's attacking plans.

Sebastian Coates has been signed, sealed and delivered to Anfield. For a fee of less than half the price of Phil Jones the Merseysiders have bagged themselves twice the player.

Why are we playing our first teamers like Suarez, Meireles and Adams against Exeter? We need to rest them especially Suarez for the next premier league game. Suarez has not been on a rest for the last  season due to copa america. We need him fresh, lively and sharp......playing him against Exeter is a waste of his energy. I believe the 2nd team like n'gog should be more than adequate to overcome lowly Exeter. Besides i don't think fans would care much about the league cup if we win the EPL........

ok laa overall..scores a belter..even casillas will be having a tough time to stop it...but to be fair to carroll, the service he gets are not the best..at one point,he furiously mad at henderson coz gave a high ball when its better to give it low on the ground..lost of scoring chance there

Yes I do want to see Liverpool win, preferbly every game. and yes in an ideal world we would like to give the due respect that Exeter deserves. But unfortunately (as pointed out by many) Suarez remains one of our MOST important player who would WIN games for us in all competitions. Unfortunately, the EPL has 36 games and including league cup games, etc there is about 40-50 games a season depending on how far Liverpool could go. Do you really expect Suarez (who had no rest during the break bcoz of copa america) to play all 50 games? (even as a sub) Don't you want to keep him as fresh as possible so that he can win IMPORTANT games instead.... Remember Liverpool don't have a huge squad of quality players like Man City.... He's our one of our few talisman to unlock stuborn defences with his lifewire display especially during the middle of the season...You don't want him injured in a game against Exeter (like Meireles) then miss all the more important games, do you? You don't want to overwork suarez and see him tired mid way through the season do you? Bottom line is we have no choice. We can't pull someone like Aguero or Dzeko from the bench....
*
u answer ur own question there..we have NO CHOICE biggrin.gif

Liverpool prepared to let Joe Cole talk to Tottenham Hotspur
• Kenny Dalglish close to signing Sebastián Coates
• Alberto Aquilani goes to Milan on a season‑long loan

Tim Rich guardian.co.uk, Thursday 25 August 2011 23.00 BST Article history

Liverpool are prepared to let Joe Cole talk to Tottenham Hotspur.
While Liverpool are prepared to let Joe Cole go to Tottenham Hotspur, Kenny Dalglish is looking to bring in two players to Anfield.

The Merseyside club are close to signing Nacional's 6ft 4in centre-half, Sebastián Coates, who excelled in Uruguay's Copa América campaign.

A deal to bring Craig Bellamy back to Anfield also looks likely. The move that would take Bellamy back to Liverpool, where he spent a single season, gained momentum when Manchester City indicated they would be prepared to settle the striker's £90,000-a-week contract to allow him to leave immediately.
Meanwhile, Alberto Aquilani has, as expected, gone to Milan on a season‑long loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

i dont mind bellamy as a backup striker..yea he's a moaner but he's a player who hates losing..we need more player like him rolleyes.gif
