I'm the owner of the Nugget kiosk which you guys are complaining. For your information, the nuggets used to serve you guys are top of the range in the market. Tell me if you go to McD and compare it with my nugget and if you feel that there is a massive difference, I am ready to make a public apology for having the guts to compare myself with the great Golden Archers.
Secondly, from when the nuggets cost RM2.90, your wonderful monash management has upped my monthly overhead by 47%. Confidentiality does not permit me to share the breakdown here. Moreover, if you are familiar with friends in the F&B industry, you would then realise that Chicken prices have gone up significantly. (I serve chicken nugget and not flour with chicken flavoring nuggets - that is my commitment to customers and to those who don't mind paying more for quality food).
I am also taking this opportunity to thank all those who supported the World Vision 30 Hours Famine charity drive which we were able to contribute part of our earnings to that NGO.
I am sorry that you find our pricing a little steep for your budget. Unfortunately, unless the management (Monash) are not as commercial and profit oriented, and view us as service providers to students' , I GUARANTEE you that nuggets will be reinstated to RM2.90.
I also believe in not shortchanging my staff and i will not compromise on remunerating them on what is due to them and YES in general, FNB sectors in Malaysia underpay their staff (I dare quote KFC and McD) which is disgusting at the expense of the FAT wallets of Landlords who reap handsome yields.
I take pride in the food i serve the students. For instance, try the sorbet. While you may complain that it is expensive at a whopping RM5.00, trust me that the price i managed to negotiate for you guys are way cheaper than Jaya Grocer / Carrefour. It is a new product (Halal) from South Africa.
However, as a means of CSR, and if you are genuinely working on limited budget due to limitations in financial resources, I am happy to offer special subsidised rate of food for those students who truly need it (subject to terms and conditions).
Lastly, enjoy your time as students because trust me you will miss it like crazy once you leave.
Cheers...
