I don't think menabung can even support me through this U..
*
Then do what I did, study hard and secure a scholarship.
If there is a will, there is a way.
Which ever university that you choose, there will always be pros and cons.
Cheers, bro.

HEllo there~ I would like to ask~ can i transfer my credits from curtin Malaysia to Monash malaysia?
*
Yes, but not all the credits you have done in other universities will be accepted.
The lecturers will look at your syllabus and decide whether you can be exempted from similar units that you have taken.
For engineering courses, one would have to repeat quite a number of units.

so..lets say i enter curtin malaysia in feb, and i decided to transfer my credits to monash malaysia and start my course in july. is that possible?  smile.gif
*
Why would you do something like that?
By the time you get your results, it might be too late to apply for a credit transfer.
Plus, I doubt that Monash will accept credits from all four units that you have done.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the best solution is still to call up Monash staff for clarification.
All the best man.

is Electrical and Computer Systems specified course?
*
what do you mean by that? specified course?
Electrical and Computer System engineering is more or less like the normal EE course but we focus more on computer system (digital) than electronics. The difference is not huge though biggrin.gif

Also the August intake includes engineering course?y
Friend told me eng course only for feb and July

But my results only out on august and I don't want to wait for feb intake
*
I believe it's because of continuous assessment.
Some engineering units require you to pass up a report every week.
It's not possible to squeeze 12 weeks of study materials into 8 weeks or less.

btw, in monash sunway residence, how many rooms in a unit? couldn't really find the info on the website.
*
there are two types of accommodation.
type I is 8 rooms and a central toilet (3 showers and 2 toilets).
type II accommodation offers rooms with toilet.

I went to Monash today. I took the canopy walk from Sunway Pyramid to Monash University. It was such a long walk. I will have toned legs walking that distance everyday.
Where do you guys park? How much is the rate? How is the parking there?

How are the engineering facilities here..are they good?

Just one more question, classes are between 9am to 5pm, right? Nothing earlier or later of that time.
How many hours lecture and tutorials? Have lab practicals for engineering or not?
*
1. The faculty of engineering is okay, I guess.
2. No, classes are between 8-6pm, however, the faculty will most likely avoid 8-9am and 5-6pm slots.
I have 4 classes that starts at 8am next semester though. LOL
3. For engineering, we usually have 3 hours of lectures, 1 hour of tutorial and 2-3 hours of lab per week.
The amount of contact hours vary depending on the unit.

lectures of 3 hours? i remember it is usually around 2 hours...
*
Engineering students rarely get 2 hours, normally it will be 3 hours of lecture.

Thanks! To engineering students, how is it there? Is it really as hard and busy as what people say about engineering in general?
*
If you put in the effort, it is possible to get HDs.
Attend lectures, tutorials and prepare for the labs.
It is still possible to have a (relatively) good social life, good grades and enough sleep, especially in year 1. LOL
Good luck!!

I'm doing Chem Eng. For the first year, I guess all engineering students will be having same lecture right?
*
Yes, you can choose one elective for each semester on top of the three compulsory units.

There won't be much distraction in Semenyih, which is a good thing for some people.
Are you joining Monash? engineering?

Oh, so you went to both Nottingham and Monash to have a look? That's so semangat of you LOL! So why made you choose Monash over Nottingham? Just because of its location?
*
I did not make my decision solely based on the location la.
Well, back then, Monash still offers Merit Scholarship (50% or 100% off in tuition fees).
That was the main factor why I choose Monash.
I prefer Monash's campus too, it is smaller so I don't have to spend too much time travelling from one place to another.
Monash also has this exchange/study abroad program.
I did one semester in Monash Clayton, Australia. Had the time of my life. I think Nottingham has this program too.

Can't really comment on the syllabus. But I reckon both universities are good.

WHOA 50% or 100%?! They even offered 100%? Haiz. Because the most I can get is only 40k. Aiks. Yeah Nottingham has the student exchange program which one can just pay for local semester fee to study abroad, provided one must achieve a certain grade.
*
Monash has similar policy for its exchange program.
All the best in monash smile.gif

i'm going to join the july intake soon..can u tell me about the parking place and attire there??kinda blur on that..... icon_question.gif
*
To the left of the campus, there is paid parking; and to the right, there is (a small) free parking.
Parking places are quite limited. Students usually park further from campus. (from campus to rock cafe)
Casual wear, t-shirt and shorts would cut it.

Have a look at WES
"Unoffical Academic Record temporarily unavailable
This service is temporarily unavailable while results publications are being prepared.
This service will be available by 12 Noon Monday 15 July AEST (MYT: 10am Monday 15 July - SAST: 4am Monday 15 July) when results are officially released."

So tomorrow we'll get our results, for those checking via WES, not sure about those registered for the SMS service tho.
*
From past experience, those who registered for the sms service would usually get the results by 4pm Sunday.
The delay might be due to a technical glitch or the NTEU ban.
I'm guessing it has something to do with the NTEU ban in Monash Australia, but you never know.
Anyway, best of luck everyone! thumbup.gif

It depends. I think if you tell them it is urgent, they will process it faster.
Currently it is "peak season" for them as a lot of students are moving in.
