Hi all, I'm currently planning to do my Computer Science degree at Monash (Sunway campus) upon completion of my Diploma at Multimedia University.

- Is it true that the standard of School of IT @ Monash is dropping?
- On average, what is the amount of students for each intake?
- Lecturers' standard?
- Facilities? (Lab pc, etc)
- Is this a wise decision? Any other recommendations?

Are they any minimum requirement for undergraduate courses? For example I achieved 3.04 for my taylors foundation and I would like to enroll in computer science @ monash.

1. The faculty of engineering is okay, I guess.
2. No, classes are between 8-6pm, however, the faculty will most likely avoid 8-9am and 5-6pm slots.
    I have 4 classes that starts at 8am next semester though. LOL
3. For engineering, we usually have 3 hours of lectures, 1 hour of tutorial and 2-3 hours of lab per week.
    The amount of contact hours vary depending on the unit.

Engineering students rarely get 2 hours, normally it will be 3 hours of lecture.

PJS11/12 Terrace house. we got ourselves a good deal, managed to rent the whole house instead of having the owner subletting. 1.2k for 4 rooms, 3 bathrooms. per room is paying roughly 300(rent) + 40-60(all utilities, unifi) per month. rooms are empty, but they are not expensive to furnish. we don't have air conditioning too, hence the cheaper rent.

around the same taman, i'll say you can get around RM400-600 per room for air conditioned room. just hit ibilik, and search for specific taman that you have in mind, or just click bandar sunway on the left. if you have friends that are already in Monash, they might be able to hook you up with their friends that are moving out/graduating.

What are the entry requirements? And is it very very hard to transfer?

Was choose in between monash and nottingham before that, but ended up notts, but so far i'm quite enjoying my study life over there, not really as boring as your friend said. Well, that's for me

So, I've officially graduated from Monash but I feel like shit. Averaged just 60% (1.798 - CGPA) from my accounting and finance course. Doubt any firm of note will even look twice at me, my resume would probably be relegated to the virtual trash bin before even reaching human eyes. It's depressing especially when some of my course mates have averaged 80+, some even 85+.

Don't really know why I've posted this here but I just need someplace to wallow in own self pity. No use doing it in real life so I just smile and pretend everything is fine but it sucks knowing that you've underperformed so miserably. Monash eh. 3 and half years of my life wasted in a desperate attempt to attain a piece of paper that, due to my own misgivings, means absolutely nothing. Depressing and I'm stuck at a point where I have no clue where to go next.

Hi, I'm a Year 1 student currently undertaking the Business and Commerce course. I plan to major in Banking and Finance & Econometrics and Business Statistics. Has anyone followed this path before? Because when I try to plan my units for both majors, I found out that the Year 3 units from both majors are mostly only offered in Semester 1. Therefore, I won't be able to complete the course within 3 years as I'll have to carry forward the remaining units that are only offered in Semester 1 into Year 4. Even if I go to summer school, it will not make much difference.

Now I would like to ask, is it possible to take all 3 electives during my Year 3 Semester 2? Because during that time I will only have one unit from my major. Thanks

Hi, is anyone planning to take up computer science in October? also, does this course consist of a small number of females? When will October intake students normally graduate?(ie which month compared to feb/July intakes)

Im going in Monash Sunway Campus this october intake for Chemical Engineering....any senior can help me out??

1) Orientation is on 23rd October , what should i bring  ? Do i go empty-handed or i go with a bag with all my documents ( results , slips ,certs etc)

2) What am i required to do before going to orientation? They sent me an email containing some guidelines about WES admission but im still quite blur

3) What will i need for classes other than normal accesories(pen etc)+ calculator???

4)  Do you find it necessary to bring laptops for class ? My parents are thinking to buy an ipad so that i dont have to bring heavy laptop to school everyday

5) Im living quite far from the campus , and my option to go to school is either sit the sunway shuttle bus at sunway pyramid or walk from sunway pyramid to monash via canopy walk....

Does the shuttle bus follow the schedule most of the time , is it reliable enough as an option to go to school during morning , also the walk from pyramid to monash campus takes approximately how long

owh ossum - I am very surprised but still glad to hear that information.

btw i've seen a few orientation videos...ok just one, which the first day is boring day , full details on the college the person already joined then there's small ice breaking games,... then there's molympics??? looks an ossum week

By the way , on youtube i saw a couple of monash university sunway campus videos out of which only one was showing actual orientation conducted while it was happening. Apparently the first day is a very tedious and non information day which shows the new students about the facilities and activities of the university , which most of the students already know it since when they applied to the college they would also have seen the other aspect of the college. Also in the same video i saw a few games which allowed students to break the tension and uneasiness in the air. The next day was monash Olympics which the new students were divided into groups and played games which included basketball , tug of war , dodgeball, Those activities looked to be an interesting and enjoyable week at monash.

oh is there any old students in monash. - Also are there any students who are old as in beyond the ages of 23 to 25 years old in monash university sunway campus?
