Just like to ask how is the engineering program offered by Monash? Thinking of Mechanical or Mechatronics.

seniors, engineering students will only choose what they want to do (like mech, chem, civil) in their 2nd year rite??

Well, I don't think there is a FAQ for that.However, there will be a talk on the exchange and transfer programme during the middle of the semester. FYI, I'm currently on exchange to Monash Clayton. All the engineering students will take the same units during first year. There will be six compulsory units and two optional units. Timetable wise, expect to have 20-25 contact hours per week.
