Yes business is one of Monash's strong area but I dont think they offer international business. Studying environment is good for me. Car park is of no issue if you arrive early.
*
i think monash have MIB(Master in international business)

hey guys, in my CoE course start date at 15th july. but i plan to arrive at 7th. does the visa effective date follow the date given in CoE or will they give abit more time for us?
*
think the earliest possible date of arrival is when your OSHC start.it should be stated in the COE

Owh, ok, I'm also currently studying business & commerce. Thanks for the info biggrin.gif I always thought only year 2 can transfer. Gona go inquire more about this. Btw, what did you major in?
*
my major is accounting & finance. i think the earliest timing to transfer is after you complete year 1(8 units),and the latest is going there for your 3rd year

QUOTE(junolow @ Sep 19 2013, 01:22 PM)
Im going in Monash Sunway Campus this october intake for Chemical Engineering....any senior can help me out??

1) Orientation is on 23rd October , what should i bring  ? Do i go empty-handed or i go with a bag with all my documents ( results , slips ,certs etc)

2) What am i required to do before going to orientation? They sent me an email containing some guidelines about WES admission but im still quite blur

3) What will i need for classes other than normal accesories(pen etc)+ calculator???

4)  Do you find it necessary to bring laptops for class ? My parents are thinking to buy an ipad so that i dont have to bring heavy laptop to school everyday

5) Im living quite far from the campus , and my option to go to school is either sit the sunway shuttle bus at sunway pyramid or walk from sunway pyramid to monash via canopy walk....

Does the shuttle bus follow the schedule most of the time , is it reliable enough as an option to go to school during morning , also the walk from pyramid to monash campus takes approximately how long
Thank you for your time >.<
*
1)no i dont see any need.maybe just ur letter from monash

2)you can do the WES admission on the day itself or if you prefer to be ahead,do it before the orientation day

4)to be honest laptop/ipad is just a tool to prevent me from falling asleep in lectures lol!and you can borrow them from the library (limited quantity though)

5)depend on traffic condition, the walk takes about 15-20min (i think i walk quite fast)

hope that helps

of course those from malaysia or singapore speaks it.but those in from KL prefers to speak cantonese more i suppose
there are not a lot of people from china in monash malaysia, compared to the monash campuses in australia

well, most msian rivers are dirty now as well...

errr, they dance, act, make short films... etc etc.. mostly locals, i doubt many indos join them... monash have an indo club if i had not mistaken.

also one more thing, msia is a very dangerous place... no exp handbag or exp necklace.. worse than jakarta..
*
alaskanbunny you already scaring her.but its good to give prior warnings

QUOTE(alicia89 @ Oct 14 2013, 03:23 PM)
wah from the activities you told me, i'm sure they are so busy..
yeah, i heard that there are lots of cases like robbery.
i will try to be careful everywhere. thanks a lot for your reminder smile.gif

stay away from quiet and dark places at night.i believe in bandar sunway, there is a few places that is pretty dark as the lights are not bright enough

scaring her? i myself is damn afraid when i am in msia man... my beloved PJ used to be so safe but not anything... i thought only shitty jb and kl is bad, but it is the whole country... how to attract foreign students then

one thing good is indo always stick together... so any trouble still not too bad
*
ok maybe not scaring but warning/reminding.
agree,i myself is also afraid when i go to kl/peninsula malaysia. gotta keep a very low profile no flashing of fat wallets around (not that i have any lol) to attract unwanted attention

have to rely on ourselves to be more alert

Sunway is not as unsafe as you guys claim it to be lar. sweat.gif security personnel are stepped up now and there's the canopy walk from monash to sun u residence
*
nobody is saying sunway is unsafe.yes bandar sunway is relatively safe compared to other places, however there are a few ''isolated'' incidents once in a while.

i am pointing out msia is scary...  sad.gif
i believe the cafeteria's food is as bad as ever... if it isnt for the incompetent procurement manager last time.. i would have been operating the cafeteria already with ming tien.. idiots!  vmad.gif  mad.gif
*
then we would have much better food during my time in monash sunway if you got the cafetaria contract
think people prefer to eat in lunchbox SMR compared to the cafetaria nowadays even though its quite pricy

lunchbox isn't any better. just walk straight to rock cafe n get better food. there's a new burger and coffee shop as well
*
well in desperate times i.e. time in between class and lunchtime is short, lunchbox is a ''reluctant'' option
when there is enough time, rock cafe, orange, white chicken rice(seems the uncle open his own shop already), subway is another option

last time need to eat subway need to go all the way to pyramid (especially when there is buy1free1 promo time) sweat.gif

QUOTE(newbzie @ Oct 23 2013, 11:55 AM)
already submitted my application for 2014 feb intake.
now the waiting and patience game.....
i thought watch dogs would take the stress away but sadly delay ...

is sunway college cafe close to monash and would there be time for students to run, eat then run back ? tongue.gif

i'll prefer for at least first 6 months stay in smr , then find another accommodation with a friend outside, maybe rizwan condo

if only lovebunny had his way and got the contract from monash, we'd be swimming in chicken curry rice with spicy meatballs for 3 RM tongue.gif

however serious note, 15 - 20 RM is required everyday for food right ?
otherwise i'll have to load up on salted peanuts, wafers biggrin.gif
*
err 10minute or less walk thru the canopy walkway
haha RM3?maybe RM$4-5 (inclusive of free chinese tea + soup haha) tongue.gif

ok serious now:
let say breakfast you eat at home, so if lunch + dinner let say is $5 X 2=$10 should be enough for something decent
if 3 meals then yeah maybe need $15

wonder if $5 still enough for decent meal after that petrol price increase.i visited sunway in august, still can find $4 chicken rice, $4.50 small pan mee. not sure if its still the case now
