New dawn coming in after new firmware emerge. But from the way i see it, if you are a Happy Flashing type - flashing left and right trying every custom rom (God i love that phrase ~lol~) than it's better to stay at 2.3.3 firmware for the time being because almost all custom rom are based on that firmware.

If you are a Stock rom loving type that like the browser hw acceleration and just a few important apps like Titanium Backup, Market Enabler and some essential widgets, it's better to upgrade to the new 2.3.4 firmware then root it for a smoother ride. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

most if not all major custom rom have moved to KG1 / 2.3.4 base.

if you are in the same rom..you dont need to wipe at all..its same like cognition to cognition...litening to litening..
*
from stock to litening generally takes no wipe, not even from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4.
Villain.. depends on the version.

2.3.4 based KG2 is out, how's your experience with it?
lite'ning v3.0 was good, v3.1 was not so well made..

i wanted to move but pressed delete instead  doh.gif i dont think there is maps in market? downloading back original rom now, sigh. I dont have the usb jig yet so dont want to flash to other roms yet.  sad.gif
*
you need root access to replace the map manually anyway, with or without the jig you are gonna need to flash either kernel or rom.

Setting 200 Mhz as lowest is a RISK - your phone will not wakeup after idle several hours. It is recommended at least 400 Mhz

Not necessary ; I never bother. If you want a safe choice - just select those multi CSC
*
isn't 200MHz The default lowest frequency?
200MHz is what detected by SetCPU with stock rom on stock kernel.

did you undervolted it? too much undervolting for the 200mhz lvl can cause ur phone to become a sleeping beauty blink.gif
*
undervolted mine before, long press and hold the power button shall wakes it backup again for you to reconfigure your phone... in a very short time frame, isn't this the case for you?

200 Mhz is the lowest frequency and if you set it at 900 mV it will be fine and able to wake up. If you set it below 900 mV, high chance of sleep. My devide 850 below is sleep death. 875 able to wake up smile.gif

4.1 seems solid. UV quite alot and battery seems lasting. I am testing my phone at 200 Mhz at mere 850 mV. I am thinking 80% chance it will go into sleep death later. Last time I try it went sleep death at 850 mV, but that is of course I UV both voltage bars.

right, so the context is about the Voltage, not MHz.

i'm running 760mV stable with "ondemand". (silicons are binned differently, so i'm NOT suggesting your phone proc can do so too..).
the phone would freeze at 750mV as soon as it idling to 200MHz, 760mV on the other hand is rock stable, been running at this setting since last weekend without fail.
Ninphetamine authors claims that there's a software cap at 800mV, that any other reading <800mV are still held as 800mV -- if this is the case, then i wonder how is 750mV vs. 760mV should make a different?
none seems to be able to give me a reasonable explanation so far.

Maybe, your phone is just "sometimes" stable with 800ma, taking into consideration the softcap. Or maybe the softcap only works after a crash reboot.

Aka, set 760ma -> crash -> reboot -> softcap quietly replaces set value.

Not that I'm able to EVEN touch 800ma w/o crashrebooting, plus I'm running on effin unstable conservative, except when screen off and in call (200-500 ondem).

from what i observed, after a freeze, the phone can still be operated through power button, i.e. to power down and power up again, waiting for SetCPU service (settings?) to be loaded.
upon bootup from a previous freeze, the settings in SetCPU will sometimes partially revert back to the default nominal values, hence the 'soft capping', works very much like a 'fail-safe' mode to me, though the fail safe does not work all the time.

it could be some other chipsets in the set at work that allows the power down, even when the CPU has frozen due to undervolt.
one thing for sure is that it is only after SetCPU loaded upon boot up, that those value will be in effect when "set on boot' is selected.
