Guys, what do you think of U36JC by Asus? My laptop just spoiled recently and I'm looking for a good replacement. My criteria is light and last long, but at least have some decent processing power as I'll process photos from time to time smile.gif

The price quoted is RM 2,950 with free external dvd.

Just wait for the U36SD. Same price as the U36JC but performance is still way superior.

Thanks for reminding. Guess I'll be using netbook for some time. smile.gif

All these have long battery lives and good performance~

It's quite heavy at 2.4 KG for me. Prefer something less than 1.8KG including battery biggrin.gif

^N43Sl has better speakers, better design, and probably better cooling. N43 has Nvidia Optimus as well~
The battery life is said to be 7-8 hours now after BIOS update  thumbup.gif
Do take note that both the A43 and N43 (non-Jay Chou version)  doesn't have USB3.0
*
Is it true that N43SL can last 7-8 hours? rclxms.gif

heh... tell me ur personal opinion.. will u take n53sv i7, or n43sl i5??

hmm.......
*
Well depends on your application and what you going to use it for.
For me mainly is office works and web surfing (kind of overkill right)? laugh.gif
But at the price and value, I guess this is the best.

If you're like me who has a six core setup with crossfire at home then it makes no sense to take n53sv i7. brows.gif

phd memang phd.. lolx...

hmm.... does drawing and running potentially big matlab or programs in the future considered overkill??  hmm.gif

planning to go into machine vision... nt sure yet... lolx....

I think the best answer to your question is to ask if your home has any good desktop system (the overkill version) and if there is not it is never wrong to buy i7. It could last you few years. When are you planning to buy again?

For the period I discovered very good pricing from a seller here. Damn it's so tempting. laugh.gif

I just bought N43SL from LYP today for RM 2,330. Freebies only bag as I don't want the free "package". Looks cheap laugh.gif
By the way, please ignore the above post, my brother forgot to logout.

You need to ask him for best price. I asked him and he gave 2,340 but at that time I'm not convenient to drop by Pandan Indah. biggrin.gif

By the way, the LYP shop is PRO-ACTIVE ICT SDN BHD
Lot 2-093, 2nd Floor. smile.gif
