well, if your priority is gaming, having a stronger cpu have little/no effect to the gaming performance

Brand: Dell, Asus, Toshiba
Size: the bigger the better!
Price: <2.4k

mid gaming:(can play portal 2, starcraft 2...etc)
Already have eyes on Dell Inspiron 15R or Toshiba Satelite L745. The dell is cheaper and bigger, but I'm worried about the reliability of Dell. People tell me Toshiba more reliable and quality better.
Advice anyone? Thank you smile.gif

inspiron 15r is around 2.4k, so this should have better gpu around that budget

Aspire 5750G, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(2GB) @RM2399
A53Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M (1GB)@RM2349

if you are deciding between satelite l745 and inspiron 15r, imo better go for toshiba since same gpu, yet 3 years warranty by default for that model

I need a recommendation on laptops to run my engineering softwares (solidworks, ansys, autocad etc) and I'm mid range gamer (HoN, still HoN). My budget is around 2500 and I prefer Asus laptops. Just wonder, is Asus laptop quality built one of the best?

Preferable brand: Asus
Budget: RM2500
LCD: 14 - 15"
Others: thin and lightweight
Usage: solidworks, ansys, mid range games.

ur advices will be much appreciated. thanks

since you don't tell your budget,
get the xps 15 with fullhd upgrade, good speaker + good screen + backlit, if you need more performance, maybe can upgrade to i7-2630qm, cos im not quite sure how intensive your designing and video editing will be.
since you are not hardcore gamer, gt540m should be suffice to handle all the latest game at medium, high setting.

Hey guys,how y'all doin?

I'm planning on getting a new lappy.

Here's my requirement.
1. Processors-i'm cool with intel i5/i7-warned by friend to not get a AMD processor(ventilation problem)
2. Looks good ,thats it(most of the laptop on market do right? tongue.gif)
3. A resolution better than 1366x768
4. Warranty~I don't really emphasize on this part but as long the lappy is problem/glitches -free ,I'm happy
5. Budget~Rm3K
6.~BRANDS~Whichever which fits the bill(lenovo or asus is my preference--heard this 2 brands are meant for hard duty/long lasting usage/problem free.)
I'm a college student.Most of the usage will fall for typical stuff(movies,downloading,game)not a hardcore gamer,games that i play(FIFA,C.O.D,). i download,watch movie A-LOT.thats it.
7.USB 3.0,HDMI features would also be welcomed with huge smile  biggrin.gif

thanks for y'all's time taken to suggest
