wanted better speakers (reason to choose n43sl) but u46sv is lighter and slimmer and it has better built quality  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

why is it such a tough decision to make..

I have a tough choice too, U46SV or N45SF.

Now that is a more challenging matter. Portability or performance? laugh.gif

Why don't someone just use a 120W power adapter and see whether that helps with the situation? Throttling might occur due to over consumption of power as well.
*
but 55sf no prob geh with same 90W. @@

Different amperage apparently. 4.7A vs 6.3A should be 90W and 120W.
*
mean duckies's n55sf i5 is same exactly as n45sf i5.... 4.7... 90W....

but yea. we thought so too..
but din test this out...

btw..
is it dangerous??? as in plugging 120W in a 90W intended lappy?

It would come with international warranty of 2 years, am I right?

and how would it compare with
XPS 15, i5-480M + Nvidia GT420M@RM2499 [JBL]
IdeaPad Y570, i5-2410M +Nvidia GT555M@RM2699[JBL]

Any other recommendations so i can compare laptops when i get to lowyat?

Thanks alot T.J.
*
it loses to both of them specs wise....

n55sf wins them both specs wise..

the xps is older gen cpu... gpu also nt strong.....

the y570... gt555m is a much more crippled card...

it goesd like this...

top notch gt555m is in alienware m14x...
then below it is gt555m in n55sf....

then below more is the one in y570.. yes. it's weird so many versions of the same card.. but yeah.. weird stuff happens sumtimes...XD

xps 15 JBL speakers are better than the speakers in n55sf.. if u don't count in n55sf's external subwoofer...

Ah. so since you've used it before. any comments?like, is it good at multitasking, any heat problems, speaker, screen etc.?
*
din use b4...

is we see and read frm benchmarks and reviews from sites. XD

cpu wise.. it loses to i3 slightly..

gpu wise..

onpar with gt540m.... theoretically.. can go better than gt540m... better than my card.. XD

games has always been bottlenecked by gpu power.. so now they stuff better gpu power into a cheaper notebook. but the trade off is not as good cpu....(bu.. BUT.. it is still enuf to run all ur daily task and etc nicely... phtoshop will run.. no probs.. just not as fast..)

i've touched it b4.. build is ok.. would recommend it. XD

basically it's like that..

priced at 1.8k.... those that cant extend their budget to 2k .... this is the best allrounder....

HP Pavilion dv6-6114tx Entertainment Notebook PC
XPS15z 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5-2410M
Asus N55Sf-S2043v [black], i5-2410M + Nvidia GT555m (2GB) + 1600x900@RM2799[Bang & Olufsen]; USB3.0, Sonic Master subwoofer
*

I need a recommendation on laptops to run my engineering softwares (solidworks, ansys, autocad etc) and I'm mid range gamer (HoN, still HoN). My budget is around 2500 and I prefer Asus laptops. Just wonder, is Asus laptop quality built one of the best?

Preferable brand: Asus
Budget: RM2500
LCD: 14 - 15"
Others: thin and lightweight
Usage: solidworks, ansys, mid range games.

ur advices will be much appreciated. thanks
*
thin and light.. THERE is..

acer....
4830tg... BUT....

u cant game long on it.. unless u get a good cooler and game in aircond room or a big fan blowing on it.... (this just applies to games like crysis 2 and their kind.. HON wun need.. XD)

But seems like from what the sifus are saying, they'd pick the asus n55sf over the hp dv6, even though its cheaper. :/ Cuz I can get the dv6 at a cheaper price, so was wondering if it would be a better option.

Doesn't seem right, a RM3799 laptop being lousier than a RM2799 one.
*
the 2799 is new batch eh,,, XD.....

also... the 3799 is with beats.... minus beats should reach just 3k....

My previous experience with the Bacon on the Dell Vostro 3450 was pretty bad laugh.gif
AMD still have a lot to learn about graphic switching haha.... but so does Nvidia  sweat.gif
*
how ''pretty bad''??

mind sharing... i till now haven hav exp wif amd cards....@@......

but yea.. i love the new driver... it switches correctly 99% of the time...XD

QUOTE(aaronwu @ Aug 25 2011, 09:41 PM)
Damn, this decision is becoming harder and harder to make.. tongue.gif

So dv6 more for gaming, n55sf more for multimedia? And do you know of any place that sells ones without beats, meaning it would cost about 3k?

Also, how are the customer service as well as international warranties for hp and asus? As i'd be going overseas.

Okay, but just to confirm, hp dv6114tx has no known problems or issues with its parts or software? Maybe i'll go with hp after all as i've had no problems with maintaining my gadgets in good conditions all along.

And what might be the consequences of hp quitting its pc business on hp consumers?
*
that.... we couldn't answer 100%.. can only speculate.... XD
