Might want to consider buying an M17x R2 and then upgrade it with the latest GPU like what hidz7 did since the R2 is basically better in terms of build etc.

my brother has a Thinkpad 'given' by his company. i know that it is shockproof & waterproof. but, the design.....

I am looking for a new laptop but not sure which one to get:

My primary usage for a laptop
- streaming HD movies to TV
- email
- MS Office
- Some photoshop works
- Internet
- Size wise, prefer a 13 inches laptop (not more)
Currently using a thinkpad edge 13 but it cannot handle 1080p movies

Laptop must be slim and light (dont mind not having any disc drives as I rarely use them)

Brand wise, looking at MBP but worried since it does not have HDMI output and I use HDMI to output audio / video to the TV.

What happen to N45sf GPU?

Yeah, the N43Sl (normal version), despite not having USB3.0, is still the best all rounder at this time
The N series should have better build, design and speakers than the A43Sv~
Ivan is right, do check out the size for 14" and 15" laptops yourself to get a rough picture on how its like... personally I prefer 14" for portability~

Although this is going a little off topic, I would have to disagree
Without the 3D glasses you can't polarize the electromagnetic wave (in this case, light) to have the cross-eye effect, creating a 3D effect with the optical illusion caused by your brain
I don't know the magic behind glassless 3D, but Nintendo 3DS did give you a lot of warnings about this issue

So far, N45sf is the one having the most problem. N43SL is perfectly fine
