Brand: Asus/ Acer/ Toshiba
Budget: Below 2.3K
Usage: Microsoft Office, movie, surfing. Hardly play game using PC but not intended to get i3 as price difference seems not much.
I am being offered this 2 models at PC Fair. Spec seems almost similar to me. There are some others free gift as well. One of the promoter told me there is no point getting 8GB of RAM as laptop only utilised max 4GB. 8GB is for those who install 2 windows in the PC. True? Can anyone advice me which to take? thanks.

Those bad comments are from haters, they aren't really using Acer in the first place. People recommending Acer because it is a good brand. Its not al ike any other company is bulletproof and without defect

1. Brand : Asus(most likely)/toshiba/dell/acer(my last opinion other than 1st 3)
2. Budget : less than RM 3k
3. spec : i want a good performance, design(good to view), mainly not lagging while i playing LAN gaming, high quality when watching movie
4. Usage : Dota, HON, Maple, Assasin's Creed Brotherhood. most of the time i will be playing DOTA, therefore i want smooth and non laggy game, microsoft, and HQ when watching movies
4. Size : 14'' or 15''  suggestion?

most important, can withstand HEAT!!! LOL

I am not saying it is really important ( of course you can not says it is not at all )
but it is not just about gaming
when you use a laptop beside the gaming you will convert some video and run some program which you can feel the difference there 

Just performance is important who cares about the tempt
I do not want to overclock it so it is not important if the company says it is ok

I decided to get Asus A43SJ-VX259V at PC fair yesterday.

Basically, the spec is:
i5-2410M Processor 2.30GHz
Window 7 Home Premium
640GB, 4GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia Geforce GT520M with 1GB DDR3 VRAM

Decided to give up the 8GB RAM and GT540M GPU. Opt for little saving and slightly bigger hardisk size as I am not gamer and using PC for online, movie and other light activities only. Well, price difference between A43SV-VX053V and my current model is only RM150 only.

1. Brand - no idea, need recommendation on reliable brand
