1. Brand: if possible toshiba, dell, acer, lenovo and asus. but im open to other brands too.
2. Budget: RM3,000 + RM100
3. *Usage: casual gaming, deal with assignments,( im a uni student)
4. Size: 13'~14' not too big maybe can accept 15' too( depend on the weight and design), mobility and weight comes to mind.

more to appearance than specs means i want a nice lappy to look at^^
if possible, the thinner the better.

***the price must be more than 3k but less than 3.1k***
(i got my reasons)

hope you guys can help out. thanks a bunch in advance.

Iinm, Matlab may rely on both CPU and GPU, so its best to go for a laptop that's powerful in both, which pretty much leads to:
HP (15.6)
Dv6-6001TX, i7-2630QM + AMD HD6770@RM3499 [2.63kg]; Beats headphones
Dv6-6114TX, i7-2630QM + AMD HD6770 + BluRay@RM3799 [Beats][2.63kg], [4GB RAM] Beats headphones, HP optical mouse, HP 500GB external HDD
Dv6-6108TX, i7-2720QM + AMD HD6770 + BluRay@RM4721 [Beats][2.63kg], [8GB RAM] Beats headphones; HP optical mouse, HP AIO printer; 3 years onsite warranty

Some forumer managed to get one for RM2.9k without Beats headphones thumbup.gif

The Y560 with HD6570 doesn't support switchable GPU, so Y470 has longer battery life....

You can check with Dell online on whether there's any W7P customization for Dell XPS 15z (sometimes the upgrades are not shown on the web unfortunately [personal experience laugh.gif]
As for Toshiba, you can find/ pre-order it at Lowyat Plaza or Digital Mall...
Or you could just PM garage sales members hikari85, devour, marcus20125 etc. icon_rolleyes.gif

Do take note that the Dell XPS 15 is better in terms of performance than the Tosh nod.gif
