I rented at Block A 11th floor, and so far doesnt really liking it all that much.. I had high hopes thou..

1. Lift is a MASSIVE problem.
2. Guards are annoyingly strict, yet crimes still happen.
3. OMG, the english used by the management is sooooo terrible its almost non comprehensible. Luckily they wrote in Malay, but not all though...
4. They advertised gym to open as early as 6-11. but i went there at 7am and 10pm not open..
5. Management are ANNOYINGLY hard to be contacted. I cant really find time to come at working hours.. and who should I call? I only have Mr Ronnie's phone number and the phone number is super hard to get through..
6. I'm not bothered by the train sound.. its like white noise to me.. tongue.gif
7. So many questionable engineering decision.. (best example: parking access.. spiral climb like corkscrew are the best way rather than the current one.. i got really dizzy just to climb to my parking at the 5th/3a floor(<<--whyy so confusing!)
8. scary crime rates told by neighbor..
9. Try to install my existing Astro but astro told me since the building only allows centralized dish, all maintenance of astro shall be done by the management. Went to the management, the astro is not well now. waiting for technician to check but does not know until when..so, yeah.. I'm f*cked. How to use PVR too since I have to use 2 cable..
10. I have to dish out RM500 as a refundable depo just to call a technician install my existing Coway Machine.........

lets just finish this 1y contract plz..

unifi is not guaranteed in most new development. it need minimum subscriber before they provide the services.
have you registered your interest or commitment for unifi with tm?

horns ablazing from when? if it's constant for a few hours, it's not normal and certainly provide an avenue for you to lodge a complaint to both the council and maybe even the police?

i reckon you are an owner?

good luck!
*
went to the TM Point just now and they told me not to have high hopes! Lol. The management looks to be in full support of Yes Home. YTL already set fiber cables to the building. the price looks alright compare to unifi. I'm giving it a shot. Will give reviews if no one done it. smile.gif

I owned a unit nearby amara..we dont even have unifi after years. The problem comes from tm and also developer.
Tm wil only lay cables when they have at least 50% demand.

Have u try staying in BU 11? Not sure abt now but 3 years back i am stuck with maxis for 8 years before I rent my unit out.

And now I am staying in BU 6 , applying thru kedai Telekom is hell , they can tell you in the system u cant have unifi but when u told them your neighbours has unifi, they will request you to give them your neighbours telephone number to check.

My suggestion is write or email to the management instead of ranting here. Problems won't go away or solved by itself .
*
Yeah. Done that. Thanks for the advise anyway. But, yeah.. I was just saying that the management encourage us to use yeshome since they fully support it (even the built in telephone port in the house are direcly connected tu yeshome - at least that is what they say)

I'm not sure sir. Just heard stories from janitors n neighbours. But the risk is there; surrounded by high dens neighborhood. Not to say that they did that, but odds of desperate people or drug addict are high.. Amara itself is open concept. While vehicle coming in stricly controled, easily accessible by pedestrians. Gate up the building might be a good solution.

I too has found some rat hole at 2nd floor to get in and out of amara undetectable.. But how they get to higher floors is beyond me..

Hey, there were some good points too btw. Nice cold weather at night, not too warm during the day. I kind of like it. Its soothing.

Just be aware that the sound of YTL loading train during nightime, azan 5 times a day and indian songs in the morning are quite loud. I'm not to bothered, but others might. (But, i had to be honest, i'm not too fond of the indian songs.. Its too loud and too long) please dont bash me being unreligious or unsensitive.. I fully understand everyones right of religious act. Just sharing my experience. Please.. smile.gif

May be this condo suitable for Indian to stay. They shall like the songs, and so near to batu caves ... can go prayers easily in short distance. :-)
This is advantage to Indian ...  rclxms.gif

Yeah. Thats what I thought. But strangely the amount of indian staying here is fairly low.. From what i observe, its like 60% malay, 30% chinese n 10% indian..

Hi... great to hear this... is it a 4G home plan ? Can't seem to find any yes fiber in their website..
*
Its a YES Fiber Home plan. Its not a 4G internet. True, I cant seem to find it in thee website either. I just know about it from brochure in the management office. From the looks of it, our management support it fully bcause our land line in our home are set to use YES HOME. They just plug it in and its ready to go.

Hi...no wonder i saw it is a LAN port..so does it comes with a modem or something? do you know anything about the upload speed as well ? thanks a lot..
*
Hi, it does come with a d link modem router which is decent quality compared to tm net streamyx and unifi.

Upload speed seems okay. Based on the test it is actually higher than download speed. And i attached large files, seeded some torrent with no problem. Should be okay right?

I have raised this in my post before but seems like i'm the only one having this problem..

I dont mind the music if its short.. But its is too long and sometimes to loud..

Maybe the petition should be for them to lessen the volume or shorten the lenght. Since it maybe a mandatory religious activity we cant urge them to completely shut down the music.

Any comments from indian friends?

Hey there! looking forward in getting more people here..

since i don't have anything better to do, I'll answer some of your concern:

1. Please check my review on the internet some post ago.. the internet is quite good. Same quality as Unifi. My 6mbps is as good if not better than my father's Unify(5mbps?). I think you can get a 30mb too.. already forgot the packages. its stable as of now..

2. The parking area is nice and cleaned daily. but a concern is where your park is located. Mind you that my parking is at 4th floor and its a STRUGGLE every single day to get in and out..

3. I'm quite surprised that you say the A block is sluggish than C and D. Block A is the best lift here(or maybe C). D? No...no..no... Break down rate? lets say, once a week for A and B.. D....like 2 a day.. (believe me, i gave up going to the gym because of the frequent lift problem).

4. I have no comments on that.. tongue.gif

5. My pool view get enough sunlight throughout the day.

Hey, some things to also consider.
1. Centralised astro(non HD)
2. Noise issue (6-9, 5-8 temple music, midnight YTL train noise (they start working in the midnight until morning)
3. Vandalism
4. Several non serious crime
5. Overly strict guards
6. Management issues
7. Traffic jams

just saying.. its not that bad anyway.

saying all that, The goods?
1. Serene environment (when the noise all gone or your minds starts to ignore it)
2. cool atmosphere. You seriously don't need any air conds.
3. amenities are nice. those shops are a huge plus..
4. nearby ktm

The parking struggle.. Its not that bad, maybe I'm just the type a person who nags alot and prefer straight to the point approach.

Its like this, we were all assign with specific parking lots. Unlucky for me, i got the 5th floor parking. Not only the climb is steep but also quite narrow.. Some people with saloon or bigger car might not be too confident cornering to get to the higher floor in one try. Plus, in order to go from one floor to the other, you will have to go trough another buffering floor.

AND, you will have to go all the way from A to D block And D Block to A Block in order to go one floor higher.

To put it in order is like this:
1.Climb from gate to UG,
2.Climb from UG to UG(buffer floor),
3. cruise from block A to Block D,
4. climb to G.
5. Cruise from D to A,
6. climb from G to 1A,
7. cruise from Block A to Block D,
8. climb from 1A to 1. Congrats! You are now in 1st floor! Repeat steps 4-7. until you reach your floor..

Going to 5th floor is like climbing 10 floor since each floor har a buffering level. It might not seems like an issue at first but if you are doing it in a daily basis, you might get annoyed.

Like today, i start my climb on the begining of Koi Mil Gaya song(it played on the radio, dont judge me.. tongue.gif) and i finished parking at the end of the song. 4++ minuites just to get in and out of prking is nuts. And its incline too, think of how much gas are thrown away.

How I wish they had build the prking a little bit differently.. Maybe like a corksrew approach. We already know your floor anyway, we never have the need to go to other parking level..the current approach is better suited for place which doesnt allocate prking since you can go to each level and find parking spaces..

But, like i said. Its my problem. Maybe you wont feel the same. If by any means you get G, UG or LVL1 parking, hey.. Awesome deal!
