Can show me the guidelines of your installation or where you refer to?
I'm going to do a dualbooting hackintosh soon but not yet prepare well on installation steps.
*
Windows then OS X Method
Boot using Unibeast Mountain Lion USB and create 1 HFS+ partition and 1 exFAT partition using GUID partition map.
Boot using Windows 7 DVD, format exFAT partition as NTFS and install.
Boot using Unibeast Mountain Lion USB and install OS X onto HFS+ partition. Just follow the Unibeast guide.
Don't forget to run Multibeast and ensure Chimera is installed.
Boot from HD and Chimera should automatically see both the Windows and OS X partitions.

i plan wanna built one...just wan to know the budget 1st...

About RM850 for i3 CPU, mobo, 4GB ram and cheap atx case.

Just add in your HD/SSD and preferred monitor. Total roughly about RM1350.

guys, can recommend the cheapest working motherboard pair with i5 2300?
looking into garage sale, the model no is not 100% same with tonymacx recommend

example:
tonymacx recommend Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3P but in garage sale only got GA-B75M-D3V
*
GA-B75M-D3V works fine. Ethernet, audio, manual sleep and even USB3. Only thing that doesn't work is Mute. Very straightforward install. What GPU you plan to use?

The best GPU choice right now should be the Nvidia 6 series.. Ati 7XXX is a NO NO
*
Agreed, for casual gaming, a single slot GT640 1GB can be had for as little as RM280. Nice and cheap and low power. Even HD4000 is enough if not into much gaming.
B75M + i3-3225 for a budget build.

My MBP13 is just 60gb SSD with 500gb at optibay for data/ storage. This setup is more than enough for surfing, word processing and media streaming
*
That sounds like a manually managed Fusion drive you have there. :-) SSDs best bang for the buck upgrade I've ever done.

doh.gif Nevermind, I thought it was a Bluetooth adaptor.

Here's an article on hack-compatible WiFi adaptors.

Personally I'm using the AR9285 mini-pcie that came with my motherboard.

That stock come with amd 5470. So i will stick with hd 2000 (stock i5 2300), not planning to do gaming on that machine (its at the office)
*
Not sure about ATI5470 but HD2000 won't work. Suggest a i3 3225 CPU which has HD4000 or use a cheap GT520 or GT210. Or an old GPU like a 9500GT or 8400GS is good too.

bros, i'm using hp compaq dc5100mt with this config

Pentium 4 3.4GHz
Broadcom Nextreme NIC
Intel 910GL graphic
Soundmax integrated audio
500gb hdd
4gd ram

possible to run hackintosh?
*
I think best not to try. Save yourself the headache. It'll be hard to find people doing the same thing for help or ideas. The oldest chipset that I'm confident of installing OS X is Intel 945G.

I ran the combo update to 10.8.2 last night and got the stuck at apple logo with the spinning thingy!
Haha, did it right before I went to bed so havent booted in -v yet..have some ideas from some quick googling to fix this..hopefully all goes well tonight..worst case scenario I did a time machine backup before so can just reinstall..Will update later...
*
If you can boot up with -x then most likely one of 2 things.

1. Oemsmbios.kext
2. VT-d needs to be disabled

What board and CPU are you using?

That ITX case is useful only if you're happy with integrated graphics and low watt CPU. Notice it doesn't give you any space for PCIe slot. And low watt means no quad core. A much better case for ITX would be this one from Antec.

Oh I did try safemode...no go...will try again tonight....Its a Gigabyte Z77P-D3 and a I5-3470k and a Radeon 6850.
*
k processors don't have VT-d so hopefully it's just a simple matter of deleting OemSMBIOS.kext.

Does anyone know what the default values are for npci and PCIRootUID that the Unibeast installer uses and for Chimera after installation to a HD?

Didnt notice in lowyat got forum for it. always looking for tonymac or insanemac forum there. and mobo they have is not available in here. sad la ..
*
Gigabyte is always a good choice. Many people use it so there's plenty of knowledge around and easy to find help if you're stuck.

Having said that, my current choice of mobo for a hackintosh build is actually a Zotac. You can find more info in the link below. It's fantastic if you're looking for an miniITX build.

Hi all, im planning to build a hackintosh with
Intel Core i3 2120 (3.30GHz/3MB)
Gigabyte B75M D3V Motherboard
i want to use snow leopard, is the hardware ok?
*
Here's my B75M build. It's very easy to get a hack running on this board with ML, dunno about SL.

http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-builds/7754...ntain-lion.html

2120 has HD2000 which won't work. Get a proc with HD4000, eg: 3225, or a GPU.

I want to use 2120 because it is a sandy bridge, SL not compatible with icy bridge right (as far as i know)
i will use a geforce Gigabyte 210 for the graphic..
*
Sorry, can't help you with SL, zero experience there. Not sure why but I've built hackintoshes from 10.4 to 10.8 but somehow skipped 10.6.

Any particular reason you want to run SL?

what apps are not compatible with lion or mountain lion? hmm.gif

I'm sure there are quite a few. For me, Super Flexible File Synchronizer v5 stopped working in ML and the upgrade to v6 is $$$. :-(

Yep, ML is easy. Use Unibeast to create bootable USB ML installer.
