QUOTE(Reimao @ Jun 4 2012, 10:11 PM) CommunityAnyone watch this series? Currently waiting for Season4. Its by far one of the better comedy series out there. Better than BBT i might add. Cant really compare those two as BBT is a sitcom.

QUOTE A situation comedy, often shortened to sitcom, is a genre of comedy that features characters sharing the same common environment, such as a home or workplace, accompanied with jokes as part of the dialogue. Such programs originated in radio, but today, sitcoms are found almost exclusively on television as one of its dominant narrative forms, and art forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated by the use of a laugh track. -Wikipedia Sitcom: How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Two and A Half Men, Drew Carey Show, etc. Series: Heroes, True Blood, Homeland, Suits, etc. This post has been edited by EightPhantomz: Jun 5 2012, 09:09 AM

Just get to see The Newsroom last night. Loving it! Even the missus loves it.
Big words. Fast talks. Charismatic ppl. And using factual stories to its good use; so everybody can relate to it. Hope they can maintain it.

QUOTE(thePointMan @ Sep 12 2012, 02:16 PM) i tot season 7 is the final season? not interested anyway, i was bored after 2nd season Wasnt really a fan of the show at first. Thought it was "Friends" rip-off. And it was too sissy for my liking. But wife likes it. And surprisingly it gets better after that.

Marathoned The Walking Dead Season 1. Cant say I enjoyed it. Amuse with the level of stupidity of its characters. Its just not for me. No offense to all fans of the series. It took me this long to actually watched it. Now that I've seen it, I'm gonna give it a pass. 6 episodes was enough to make me cringed to death.

Elementary? Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson? Modern-life crime investigations? Sounds familiar. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Relation to Sherlock (BBC) In January 2012, Sue Vertue of Hartswood Films, the company that produces Sherlock, said, "We understand that CBS are doing their own version of an updated Sherlock Holmes. It's interesting, as they approached us a while back about remaking our show. At the time, they made great assurances about their integrity, so we have to assume that their modernised Sherlock Holmes doesn't resemble ours in any way, as that would be extremely worrying."[7] The next month, Vertue said, "We have been in touch with CBS and informed them that we will be looking at their finished pilot very closely for any infringement of our rights."[2] CBS made a statement on the issue: "Our project is a contemporary take on Sherlock Holmes that will be based on Holmes, Watson and other characters in the public domain, as well as original characters. We are, of course, respectful of all copyright laws and will not infringe on any stories or works that may still be protected."[2] Doherty spoke about comparisons between Sherlock and Elementary that July: Sherlock has been contemporized dating back to the forties. There were movies with Basil Rathbone set in the Victorian era, and then suddenly there were movies with Basil Rathbone in World War II where they're fighting Nazis. So, the idea has been around a long time. Sherlock has done it extremely well. I think it's a brilliant show. I've only seen the first series, but I hear the second series is just as excellent. But as far as taking from the show, I just don't think that's true and Sherlock again has been... because he exists mostly in the public domain, many hands have handled Sherlock over the years and Watson and the premise and the show. He's been everywhere. He's been to the future. He's been to the past. I've seen him in comics. I've seen him in books. I've seen many, many different takes and interpretations on the character and the franchise. They're all great. I don't think any of them hurt any of the others.[6] Lets see how it goes.

Yes Defiance is so-so. Still a good watch without any high expectations. IMO, the best space scifi is probably Battlestar Galactica. But I still enjoy watching Firefly, Andromeda and a few more. Do let me know if I missed anything.
My US/UK series list is shrinking now that I've dropped some so-so series and few more cancelled/completed series.
Sadly now only sticking to Game Of Thrones S3 (Awesome!), Mad Men S6 (Cool drama) and The Big Bang Theory S6 (just okay) and the newly added Defiance (sokay) and Da Vinci's Demons (kinda distracting, thinking of dropping).
Not really into thriller like Bates Motel, Hannibal etc.
Really bored nowadays, I ended rewatching Battlestar Galactica's earliest seasons on Netflix. Sigh.

QUOTE(stormlcc @ Apr 28 2013, 03:01 PM) sorry for keep mentioning this, but have you tried Stargate SG-1 (the best sci-fi series ever made) and Stargate Atlantis? Personally BSG is rated very low in my list, too dark to watch multiple times. SG-1 can watch once every year, just for the fun of it. Firefly is quite good, but most of the casts went to SG-1 after the series ran out of funds. Andromeda is quite bad. and also don't miss the classic Babylon 5 and Star Trek (especially deep space 9) LOL awesome! How can I forget Stargate SG-1 / Atlantis / and Universe too?! Yes, I love the Stargate's franchise and thank you for bringing it up. Going to rewatch those later! I watched those on tv during my years in US. But I didnt really committed to them. So many distractions. Yes BSG is too dark. I watched it when I was already settled in Msia and when I got to know torrent etc aswell. The same as Firefly (and Serenity) and Andromeda (watched it only on Astro AXN - sucky but entertaining yet forgetable). I liked Babylon's but dont remember much. Star Trek is ok but not really a Trekkie. LOL. I hope they have Stargate's on Netflix.
