Ok, so I decided to watch both versions of Sherlock and my my did the UK one managed to excite me. Color me impressed. Writing is splendid, could not complain about the casting and the characters (protagonists, antagonists, and victims) were all interesting, directing and acting IMO gave life to each episode. Only gripe I felt was that some of the action scenes felt dull. Finished Series 1 and I am hooked to this one.
Now about other shows I'm following:
Dexter: Love-hate thingy going on here. Inconsistency but somehow I am still following it week in week out. Interesting that all parties are after Dexter and one can tell that it's going to end soon.
Breaking Bad: This. This is what I call an excellent TV show. The tense moments throughout the series is just fantastic. Plus the various crisis and conflicts amongst each character just makes BB an outstanding TV show.
Game of Thrones: Main title song keeps me coming back to each episode. Big plus there. Again, many character developments going on as the main plot runs through. Beautiful surroundings and effects. Season 2 had it's 'meh' moments but overall a nice show when boosted by excellent writing + script and good acting.
Mad Men: Finished Season 1 after forcing myself to watch the first 3 episodes. Could not relate to the lifestyle and conversation of these m-ad men at first but the day-to-day living of the characters and their relationships kept me watching. Hooked right after the third episode. The season finale was my favorite with Don all alone and Peggy's predicament.
Arrow and Elementary: Both shows impressed me initially. Past tense emphasized impress-ED. Not sure if each show is trying way too hard or that I'm just too lazy to follow too many shows at once. Will give them more time as I force myself to watch several more episodes.
