finished first episode of Billions (paul giamatti and damian lewis). it's good. will stick to it. any comment on frankenstein chronicle and Jekyll and Hyde? i downloaded it, but haven't watch it yet.
Billions way too fluffy with the hollywood treatment. Bedrag with a similar premise that's far grittier and gnarly human drama. The behind the scene manipulation is ruthless and Bobby Axelrod just a spoilt brat in comparison to the power player in the danish crime thriller.
I can't find a English subtitle version. All the version out there are without subs.
Not here to be a correctional nazi, Lost is by Damon Lindelof while Westworld is by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Person of Interest may not be as high concept as westworld but nevertheless engaging. By Nolan and Joy as well. Black Mirror updated Twilight Zone anthology series that revolves around the present day of technology. Utopia a super dark show that did plenty of f-up things. Too bad HBO axed it from David Fincher adapting it. So it's that good to attract Fincher making it. The man in the high castle - Once the ball start rolling after a few episodes, it's addictive. Season 2 about to start soon.
you are like a tv show encyclopaedia. salute you my friend.
Quarry was ok to watch cause only 8 episodes. Two parallel plot-lines running the course of the show. The good part is all the killing and murdering orchestrated by the enigmatic Broker. The violence is gnarly beyond HBO standard. Broker is a fascinating character who is behind the scene running a network of colorful contract killers. He's like Littlefinger manipulating the shit out of everyone. The bad is the lead actor PTSD story felt cliche and drag the show down in the beginning and middle. Then episode 8 happens which hits like a truck on why he is so broken. Cinemax being the sister company of HBO, expect plenty of sexy time. Watch the show solely for Broker who really the reason to stick with the show.
Sneaky Pete looks ok as a filler show in between the big guns.
Quarry is actually pretty good. I find it damn funny when mac call the "butler", potato head. Hahaha

Just the cup of tea I ordered! Dark and violent. It's sorta like "Justify" had a baby with "Banshee". Gonna binge this over the weekend. Respectable score on metacritic and came recommended from my favorite podcast...the slashfilm crew (Ignore Jeff Cannata coz he's the lesser one among the trio.)
I like Sneaky Pete quite a bit once the set-up in place and just ride along for the con job that being staged. Just read it got picked up for 2nd season. Bryan Cranston need to start choosing his roles without repeating himself too much. Here he is predictable and almost gone to mustache twirling villain.
I tried watching the first episode, can't find any excitement in it 30min into it. is it better later on?
It became fun when Pete juggling multiple tasks like maintaining his cover, the family not as squeaky clean as they are while Cranston hot on his tail. Then it's alright also if you are not digging the show. I'm perfectly fine with that as well.
cool. I'll give it another try. in the mean time, watching the crown now. interesting show indeed. have you watch The OA? gonna watch it after finishing the crown.
