The Looming Tower(2018)
First three of 10 episodes.
New episodes weekly.
Creators-Dan Futterman, Alex Gibney, Lawrence Wright
Cast - Jeff Daniels, Peter Sarsgaard, Tahar Rahim

Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Lawrence Wright
non-fiction book.It is regarded as one of the best and most definitive
accounts of the circumstances that led to 9/11 attacks.

Set in 1998, a time when only eight of the FBI’s 10,000-plus agents
spoke fluent Arabic.
Also demonstrating how key intel was overlooked,
the squabble over information sharing between the CIA and the FBI.

The first three episodes, interestng but impossible to tell whether
it will sustain the pace through to the end.

Sneaky Pete Season 2....Quite messy for the first 5 episodes. Still enjoys it with the double triple cons they pulling on each other. Granted the fastball twists and turns not always believable and couple of jump the shark moments. Somehow the thread holding everything together still pretty impressive to watch. Kinda watching a chaotic Jenga tower balancing on a high wire.

Wormwood - The ugly history chapter of CIA.

When Errol Morris drops a documentary you know full well it is of utter importance. This time around he mixed with very well made re-enactments with the usual archival footages and talking head interviews. The information and examination always engaging to fuel the bingeworthy factor. It's as prestigious as docu-series I can remembered and certainly does not have that TV news tone to it.

HBO's Barry is all good and do not confused it with the Netflix one. Guess this is one of those passion project for comedian Bill Harder. Flexing his acting chops into semi dramatic role but enough of comedic situations to get a chuckle here and there. Refreshing!! Avoid trailer if you do not want to see a big spoiler.

Silicon Valley on the other hand is getting stale. Same routine with a good news that got served with double or triple irony. Still the same play of Richard not getting his break as he started to become a bigger asshole.

I'm loving the first episode. Lush production design with very well acted cast members. Ciaran Hinds and Jarred Harris enough to warrant a bare minimum three more episodes watch. Now it's more of how dreadful can the terror playing out in the later episodes. Still early to judge if there's enough hook to sink in.

Apparently the show is an adaptation of a fictional book about the Franklin's Lost Expedition. They only discovered the sunken ship few years back. Avoid googling it if you don't want to know some of the horrifying facts pertaining this 100 plus years mystery. Granted there's a supernatural element that incorporated into this tale.

Manage to binge through Collateral. Its a complex murder mystery updated with a post-Brexit work frame. Killing of a Muslim refugee led to spider web of cover-ups. It does not do anything new but did very well to portray the racial tensions in a more sensible light instead of the US in your face rhetoric. Other prevalent talking points also being touched on. With Carey Mulligan name attached somewhat made the lead character works in an otherwise dour detective.

Killing Eve - The first episode very promising. Psychopathic assassin vs spunky detective. The twist is the assassin looks like a princess complex poster child. Kinda reminds me of a darker Johnnie To's Running Out of Time.

A remake of the Sixties space opera.
This is sci-fi family adventure series.

Siren(2018-fantasy drama)
10 Episodes-Weekly(28th March 2018)
Creators: Eric Wald, Dean White.
Stars: Alex Roe, Eline Powell, Fola Evans-Akingbola.

Taking place in the Pacific Northwest town of Bristol Cove
a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids.

Ben(Alex Roe), is working as a marine biologist with his
girlfriend, Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola), to help
rehabilitate injured sea life.
Finds himself drawn to a mysterious new girl in town,
Ryn (Eline Powell) who is a strange young woman with a
deep dark secret.

Ryn is dangerous, kill if you’re food or if she’s under
attack conditions. And process superhuman strength.
And convincing you that killer mermaids are no joke.

Watched the first five episodes.I Enjoyed it.
Enough mystery to keep it entertaining.
The biggest strengths come from Powell's performance.

Hope "Siren" can keep things tight and able to keep
Ryn and her sister, Donna (Sibongile Mlambo)
interesting and creepy, it will certainly
be a show to keep watching.

Plea to those who enjoys good quality TV show, please watch Killing Eve. It's mid-point in the 8 episodes season. Guaranteed you will meet one of the most fascinating femme fatale I can remember in a long time. Villanelle is just great acting and her character very refreshing.

So far it is pretty intense.
Fearing for June the whole way through episode 3

Both Handmaid's Tale and Westworld brought the dying TV interest in me back to life in the last fortnight.
Good news: both shows are renewed for Season 3 and I am all ready for the Shogun World.

Good to hear Offred able to keep up. Most likely will binge this nearing the series finale to catch up. AMC's The Terror was pretty depressing in a spectacular way, so need to space out a little before jumping back into another misery porn show.

Right now Killing Eve and Westworld kept me busy. Yeah the backlog of The Americans that I always wanted to see through but new and shiny TV shows keep coming up...lol...

I love the show game of thrones. This is the best series in my opinion. I've watched a lot of different shows, but this one is really cool. Does anyone agree with me?

How's your Dad, Bernie?

GoT ... so far, those I know who watched the series, it became their top favourite show.

Based on a novel of the same name by author Steven
Gould(who wrote the Jumper novels).

struggles to make friends, unable to drive due to unexplained
seizures and smoke pot to escape a troubled family situation.

I heard about the Vikings in the English History and now I am watching the season based on it which is known as Vikings. It is one of the best season on Netflix after Game of Thrones. Am I right folks? Are you the Vikings lover? Share with us!

Sacred Games

A first Hindi Netflix original crime series, 8 episodes only for season one, but I've binge watching it whole night, fantastic story, great pace, engaging plot to make you wanna watch what's next
It's rare to see so much violence, nudity & touch on some of the taboo subjects in a Hindi show thumbup.gif

Sharp Objects (2018)
Premieres-July 8th, weekly eight-part limited series.
Director-Jean-Marc Vallée(Big Little Lies)
Stars: Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina.

Based on Gillian Flynn’s novel of the same name.
Amy Adams as Camille Preaker, a St. Louis crime journalist
is sent to return to the Midwest town of Wind Gap where she
grew up to write about the recent murders of two missing girls.
She is less keen to return.

Camille is a flawed, dark, and troubled character and
Amy Adams will nail this part.

Though off to a slow first episode start, will go along for the
eight-week ride, wouldn’t dream of missing what comes next.
She is one of the finest actresses around and she is always
worth watching.
