Hey guys. i have a HTC Wildfire with Unlimited Data Plan.

i want to buy a tablet that has Wifi option ONLY, not with 3G as i figure that i can use the hotspot function on my wildfire (i've upgraded to froyo) to act as a modem whenever i'm in the non-wifi location.

is it recommended to do so? i mean, i don't have experience with any tablet before. so, i would really need to know some thoughts from those who have.

or would you suggest me to terminate dataplan on my phone and use 3G tablet instead? i'm a student and i don't really mind bringing tablet whenever i go because as of now i even bring my laptop around with me almost 24/7 including classes and lectures.

*tablet here can be anything as long as it's android tablet. as of now i'm only interested with Asus transformer and galaxy tab 10.1 wifi.

hey guys, simple q. the 3G version if i put in phone sim (prepaid) and disable the 3G connection (to avoid data charge), can i use it for texting/smsing? i know phone call isn't supported in this new tab.

hello guys. i've been doing some research mostly reading through this thread, specs and prices for :

samsung galaxy tab 10.1 wifi+3g
samsung galaxy tab 7' wifi+3g (the old one).

i don't really do rooting although i've been using wildfire for more than a year already.

i want to use this tablet for :

1. surf the net just like a normal laptop, skype,ym, etc3.
2. a little bit of gaming (not a priority)
3. reading PDF files
4. i want to put my 2nd number (prepaid) so that i can use it for texting only.
5. my main internet connection will be wifi although i want to purchase 3g version. i will use hot spot via my wildfire or any wifi connection available at that particular time.

my main number will be used on my wildfire (DG smartplan).

is anyone here was previously using the old tab and now using this 10.1 model?
do you recommend me to pay a little more and buy this version or go for the old one which is a little cheaper?



ps : i know i've been asking a lot lately. but, a 2k investment is a bit steep for me and i need to make sure i know everything or done a proper research so that i won't regret using it for the next year or two .
