hello guys. i've been doing some research mostly reading through this thread, specs and prices for :

samsung galaxy tab 10.1 wifi+3g
samsung galaxy tab 7' wifi+3g (the old one).

i don't really do rooting although i've been using wildfire for more than a year already.

i want to use this tablet for :

1. surf the net just like a normal laptop, skype,ym, etc3.
2. a little bit of gaming (not a priority)
3. reading PDF files
4. i want to put my 2nd number (prepaid) so that i can use it for texting only.
5. my main internet connection will be wifi although i want to purchase 3g version. i will use hot spot via my wildfire or any wifi connection available at that particular time.

my main number will be used on my wildfire (DG smartplan).

is anyone here was previously using the old tab and now using this 10.1 model?
do you recommend me to pay a little more and buy this version or go for the old one which is a little cheaper?



ps : i know i've been asking a lot lately. but, a 2k investment is a bit steep for me and i need to make sure i know everything or done a proper research so that i won't regret using it for the next year or two .

the main point i buy tab is for my gf to ply fb game ..
but the lag dissapointed us

Anyone able to play FULL HD 1080p movie on the tab. Really lag kau kau. 720p movie plays flawlessly and quite sharp.

from what i know thats the prob with honeycomb... all the tablet now hv problem to play full hd movie..

i have both n still usibg both
for your needs the tab 7 inch is best choice or wait for new 7.7 maybe end year available

Added on September 5, 2011, 11:16 amYou are NOT supposed or expect to play facebook games on hc tablets. if you can play is a bonus. play these on your notebook. thus is what i alwsys say user pushing their tablet to extreme thinking it can replace notebook
maybe future hc upgrade will improve this but is never n not google priority. remember google will not want to improve too much on facebook experience when they have plan to have google+ to be the next facebook

Finally managed to update latest firmware official to PDA:KH4/Phone:KG1/CSC:KH1 (XME). Anyone also updated? What's the difference?

couldn't understand y ppl wanna play a flash game on a tablet.. heck some flash intensive games even lags on my pc and ppl expect a hc tablet to play it flawlessly..

every gadget have its function, don't get a wrong one and claim its useless/disappointing.. it's like u get a kancil and complain u cannot drive fast and blame perodua..

support ur point...play tegra game loh right? much much better man...

hi.. wanna ask is celcom still offering promotion for this tab? thinking of buying one but kinda torn apart if wanna get without contract or with celcom contract.. which one more worthy? i heard the early birds got the tab at RM99 during launching.. damn i was outstation!! what is the price offered by celcom now?

just wonderinf the tab celcom is selling is the 3G+ wifi version?? or we actually connect a usb dongle to surf net via 3G?

i checked endgadget and techradar..it mentions no 3G slot on tab??

it's Rm999 with 25 luck buyers entitled for RM99.. now the current package is around Rm1.5k..

I suggest u to wait for other telcos if u need a data plan.. or just wait for wifi onli tabs.. the current celcom offer is not that worth..

no need dongle.. just use a 3G enabled sim card..

Go for 8.9" or 7.7" SGT

yes it is....the USB port haven't got enough current to charge the tab

Ok totally agree with that. Thot my tab had a problem or the browser not supporting it. It was just a question abt the lag. Since you hav put tat way, then i suppose it make sense now.

Even car usb charger doesnt support.. How much current mAH needed? the socket i got is 1000mAH. Still not support.

Another thing ... FB games are mainly designed for desktops/notebooks with a keyboard and a mouse/trackpad as input devices, not for touch screens You will find a hard time using your finger like a mouse. Unless they have dedicated app that connects to FB.
