perhaps that's not what nikon had in mind. maybe it's to combat Leica in terms of mobility or something like that. Nikon hasn't been particularly good in portability before

You always have to multiply by 1.5 when converting to DX, not divide. Hence FX cannot be longer than DX.

There's the Nikon ME-1. It's small and considerably cheap. You get what you pay for however, it's nowhere as good as those RODE mics but still it's cheaper.

the 1st and 2nd look to overly edited, and the 3rd one could use a little fill light. love the cat tho
