I want my cpu as fast as possible but I am not the crazy overclocker that want to get ultra high 3d mark score

I want to play delta fans (190 cfm 50dba), i have a speed controller for sure

I found the insane air cooler : noctua nh d14 on google but it cannot fit 38mm fans imo shakehead.gif

Then i found radiator is most suitable for monster delta fans but my fren told me
cheap water cooling components will make the perfomance lower than insane air cooler

my cooling rig budget around rm350
(exclude resavior box and pump)

If go for water cooling, I am confused which waterblock to get...
Swiftech Apogee XT
or this one

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=8959197968&
I know its china made but that are branded and silver plated brows.gif
What i wanted to know is which waterblock waterflow design has higher perfomance etc.

what is your proc?

for water:

koolance CPU370 is the best but you will go crazy with the installation..
EK full plate is the second but some say it have issued with the plate..
swiftech apogee XT rev 2.0 is the third, easy to install..

Larkooler BA-2241 (2 Fans - High)-complete set

for air:

Prolimatech Genesis
(2 Fans - High) Corsair H70 (2 Fan - Low)
Prolimatech SuperMega (High)
Zalman CNPS11x Extreme
Prolimatech Megashadow
Zalman CNPS9900 Max

i7 2600k will be fine with air cooling, you still able to O.C-but not extreme O.C

btw i am confused the air flow with delta 190mm fans...
So i decided that radiator fans doesn't need crazy airflow design

is there any disadvantages using liquid cooling?
Except the risk of liquidleaking

whats the meaning of extreme oc? above 4.5ghz or something?

Do you mean fans with 190CFM/4000rpm? It's to loud I think..
You can get scythe gentle typhoon 1850rpm. It's nice.

disadvantages?
If you want to change/add the tube, new waterblock(VGA or RAM), water/liquid or maintenance.
If your pump suddenly dead or waterblock rusted.
It takes time for a starter/beginner to install it.
void the warranty(corsair dominator GT and some VGA)

some reviewer O.C to 4.9 with air cooling but I think it's not for 24/7 especially with hot weather..

I mean like...
If water cooling costs RM500
And air cooling costs RM300
At 4.8Ghz
Water cooling = ???C
Air Cooling = ???C

will it take huge difference?

if you want 4.8Ghz, it's better to get water if you don't want your room to get hot from your cpu...

btw, corsair use another company waterblock(forgot the name) for their HXX cooler, they tweak it and put label on it.

my friend use H70 for his 2600k,4.4Ghz with HT off the temp already reach almost 90c
2600k 4.8ghz HT ON for H70 is too much i think...
he's using W7 SP1,stress using latest Linx...

i think add a fan will be good...
H100-like cooler : http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=8965546791
this looks nice...

they are almost same price...

Added on July 14, 2011, 8:30 pmchoose nH d14
thanks all for suguession
my conclusion;

Insane Liquid Cooling > NH D14 > H70
Air cooler uses copper as heat spreader, why use water?
only insane computer player that have huge radiator surface can do better perfomance than nh d14 by insane liquid cooling
I've do alot of google search and they all recommend NH D14 than H70

For watercooling setup, prepare to spend RM650 or so to get a nice cooler that can smoke H70 or air cooler biggrin.gif
As for LinX temperature,it's a bit irrelevant cause in real life no way the temperature will be as high as LinX temperature biggrin.gif
