exactly my fren.... however, it really depends on your printer settings and what you are printing. since i am using cast based photo paper, it dosen't require that much ink as compared to resin coated ones.

in my context, 3 pages A4 = 1/4 of each cartridge on average (more black used than yellow, cyan and magenta same).

so 1 set of normal catridge (as shown on the printer) = 3 x 4 = 12 pages of A4. let's round it up to 10 pages of A4.

since 1 set of cartridge equals 10mls of ink and 1 set of CISS is 100mls of ink, a set of CISS is good for 100-120 pages of cast based photo paper whistling.gif

My take has always been the same, as there are so many variables involved. I do not know of a standard yardstick in measuring printing mileage.

It all depends on what your are printing, tone preferences, and settings used. My only honest answer is that, with the provided set, you have 400ml of ink to start printing with and you can still top-up with more ink!

Statistics can be a very useful "marketing" tool.. End of the day, it all boils back down to the 400ml of ink that you can use for the savings price paid.

I hope that I've provided an acceptable answer for your consideration. notworthy.gif

I hope to receive and send it out immediately after QC by the end of the coming week. I just hope that KLIA customs dont detain the carton too sweat.gif This has been the heaviest and longest transit time compared to previous bulks.

Cant be helped bro.. I've been told that sometime, they suspect the CISS to be a BOMB! shocking.gif

I've been chasing the relevant people and getting the necessary import documentation for this V8 shipment, never has been this complicated before sweat.gif I hope that they dont tax me too!

With a budget of RM500.. there are basically 2 printers in our local market to choose from. (KL prices for both printer are hovering around RM450)

Canon IP4200 (4 colour printer - dye ink)
http://site-my.canon-asia.com/index.cfm?fu...rod_type=ip4200

Epson R230 (6 colour printer - dye ink)
http://www.epson.com.my/products/printers/...hoto_R230.shtml

It's best to let the specifications speak for themselves. In terms of photography printing, my personal preferences for Photo Printer has been for those that offer more vibrant colour reproductions i.e. 6 colour / 8 colour printers.

In terms of cost of printing.. well R230 ezCISS is available, IP4200 ezCISS I dare not risk bringing in due to the new chipped canon cartridges used.

As with Pro photography printing, it's best to have the necessary monitor and printer calibration equipment for better reproduction.

Cost of printing aside, I suggest that you review/compare the printer specifications should it meet your printing needs. There are Canon Fans and Epson Fans, some swear one is better then the other.. some need speed, some need colour, some need it cheap.. some want it all!

In terms of printhead life, well that argument is never ending. Best just to say publically "take good care of your printer". Many blame OEM inks when it's acutally due to bad maintenance. Of course there are poor quality inks in the market too, you just have to choose wisely.

For your kind consideration, I hope that it helps notworthy.gif

Dye ink isn't waterproof, even the original R230 cartridges are not waterproof ink. With the correct photo paper used for printing, presto, prints become waterproof! Proof of concept HERE

Do you require waterproof prints?

Cheers!

V8 Buyers.. Goods are current in KLIA (stuck with Customs) I need to take a day off tomorrow and swing over to LCCT to settle the shipment with Customs Department. Should there be any Taxes involved, I'll absorb it. This shipment has been super nerve-wrecking! shocking.gif

I ask for your kind understanding icon_question.gif
