QUOTE(afrojack5 @ Aug 12 2011, 10:30 PM) isnt this car quite common nowadays well, its not F430 common... that car is reaallyyyy common.. i remember at the Ferrari gathering...like more than 70% was 430s. and thats minus the scuderia versions. theres probably less than 10 SLS so far thats been spotted round. even 458 Italia has more counts than the SLS |

QUOTE(harryfoo @ Aug 13 2011, 03:03 PM) hahaa..youre kidding right? the SLS exhaust note for me is the best sounding one..should take a listen to it again the SLS sound is purely what the engine sounds like... AMG didn't do any sound synthesizing with it.. Technically the SLS shouldn't be a direct rival to the 458 cuz the SLS is more of a GT car since its front engined and the 458 is a supersports car. but in terms of everyday usage, got to be the SLS. More practical and if I'm not mistaken, a little economical too despite the 6.2litre engine. and the 458 is deemed to be very very common sooner or later just like the 430. mmm |

QUOTE(afrojack5 @ Aug 13 2011, 02:54 PM) who said that? i thought 458 has the best NA engine in the world?both also V8. 458: 4.5Litre 562hp = 562/4.5 = 124hp/litre SLS: 6.2Litre 563hp = 563/6.2 = 91hp/litre? Correct me if I'm wrong. This post has been edited by huaipoh: Aug 13 2011, 06:52 PM |

I think the owners of 458 doesn't find it to be difficult to drive it everyday. It can be comfortable as long as you keep the normal settings on and it has 7 gears just like the SLS, so I don't think grand touring is a problem for 458. Boot space I think SLS wins it, despite the engine is in the front. Fuel consumption won't be a problem if you can afford a car like this.the SLS sound is purely what the engine sounds like... Fuel consumption won't be a problem if you can afford a car like this. valid reasonings.. haha i guess it depends on peoples preferences. different people, different views it depends... no doubt the 458 Italia will go in the books for one of the most beautifully designed cars of all time but for me, i don't think its as special.because i knw it'll be flooding the market cuz its Ferrari's entry level Berlinetta (california is cheaper of its not a Berlinetta ferrari). but like i said, peoples preferences.. perhaps the enlightened scuderia kind of version on the 458 will be my pick as for the LF-A.. the back looks ridiculously ugly.. i think lexus lost ideas at the back.. but everywhere else looks amazing..and the sounds, <3, but the price is 599 GTO money (£300thousand ++) and i won't go for the LF-A over the GTO. |

SLS. Simply because they only made another one after what 40 years? It has all the makings of a classic just like the one before. Yes it's not the fastest, loudest or the baddest, still those gull wing doors are original that only other car manufacturers want to copy.
458 will only be preceded by another louder and faster Ferrari whereas I think the SLS will be it's one of a kind for quite some time to come. |
