You may follow the Official SEA Froyo guide.

May sure you read many times, download all necessary files/ program/ drivers.

After upgrade to official froyo, then try root.

After root then follow the instruction for Gingerbread 2.3


Backup your contact with google account/ backup sms with "sms backup & restore" free from market.

Backup your apps with "Titanium Backup" from market but need root before use.

MIUI 1.7.29 fail meh ???

for me no problem oh .. but today my boss told me his SGS use MIUI can't send mms, then i try my also can't oh ..

any of u using celcom & MIUI then can mms ???

My MIUI can't update directly from .15 to .22 and .29

So i download full MIUI .29 and direct install the zip file and ... DONE

didn't do any backup or clear cache ^^

So far no problem to me, and don't ask me what is my speed test / score. I don't see this think help much right now, you use it test it play then u know this ROM or your setting okay or not

My Defy unplug from charger around 7.30am.

then bluetooth on while driving/ wifi on at office/ home / sometime client site.

Email auto check all the time/ sms/ whatsapp/ call/ sms.

Usually 9pm still got 40-50%.

If on GPS, then battery drop really fast. About 10%+ per hour ( during froyo time) Never check the drop % at CM7 and MIUI.

u have to compare those the service / value that u need.

I'll suggest u to keep the current one if just want to change from prepaid to postpaid.

Btw, I'm celcom user for the pass ... 12 years

using latest MIUI now. test quadrant score while running wifi download game...still got 2100 score.

latest MIUI radio no problem for me.

previous version update fail (abort) then i download full file 90mb and install the zip file direct.

then yesterday i test update direct no problem.

actually i fail to upgrade it for 2 weeks, not sure why install the zip file and half way abort.

then only i decide to download the full file 90MB, but i didn't do any backup or wipe cache / date.. direct install the full zip and .. DONE


after that no problem for the next Friday update after full install directly

i got issue with my car bluetooth connection. No problem for music, but for phone calling/ answer .. i need to switch to loudspeaker then switch back to bluetooth .. then only i can hear from my car's speaker.

only happened to phone call. wired

how u use it?? for me, battery drain fast when use GPS and book reader.

else, wifi whole day/ email/ call/ sms it will last me 60% and above by 8PM. sometime even 75%.

phone call only normal in/out call, not long chat.

wifi then 2 email account auto check all the time, 2 market auto check update, facebook msg.

From what i read here .. we are using Defy + already. 1Ghz clock speed and we are not stuck with Froyo.
