Mine is more like screen not sensitive/screen detects touch by itself sometimes if my screen is covered with a thin layer of something(oil, water etc) and i suspect the phone actually calibrates the digitiser everytime it turns the screen on. for example if theres a wayer droplet on the phone, it will respond to it but after you lock and unlock the screen it will like 'calibrate' itself to the water on the screen lol.

gonna be hard helping you. the other hard way of doing it is flashing another ROM (i suggest CM7 since you just need to wipe data/cache and install zip like MIUI) and see if the same problem occurs. if yes, likely is the MIUI Rom, but problem is, no one else seems to be having this problem except you.
