I just don't get the method they flash that ROM. Grrr.. isn't there a CM7 way?
well..looks like the dev have updated to v4 (which does not include the 720p patch..we need to flash separately)

If you are interested..heres what i did..(I managed to download v3 with the 720p patch)

1) start from any froyo 2.2.2
2) root and install 2ndinit from market
3) download MotoGinger Teaser v3 (i can try to upload it somewhere)
4) connect defy to pc and create a folder called \clockworkmod\backup\ in your sdcard
5) extract the downloaded MotoGinger Teaser v3 and unzip to your newly created folder so that you will have \clockworkmod\backup\MotoGinger-Teaser-v.3
6) download fixed SBF "shadow4.5.1-134fixed.sbf" (I can try to upload it somewhere)

Start flashing
1) boot defy into CWM recovery
2) perform wipe data/factory reset and perform wipe cache
3) perform an advanced restore of MotoGinger Teaser v3. Select restore system only
4) after restore complete choose "reboot system" and immediately hold down the VOL UP key to go to bootloader mode.
5) connect your defy to pc and launch RSD lite
6) flash shadow4.5.1-134fixed.sbf downloaded earlier
7) after flashing complete and your device reboots, immediately hold down the VOL DOWN key to go to stock recovery
8) Press both VOL UP and VOL DOWN key simultaneously to see the boot menu.
9) perform wipe data/factory reset and perform wipe cache
10) once done reboot system, RSD lite should show PASS. Disconnect from PC and enjoy.

today, i am actually back to froyo 2.2.2 because will be going to the service center to get my menu button LED fix...
will flash back to motoginger after that.. nod.gif

Awesome really appreciate the trouble of you writing this. My CM7 becomes weird as time goes by not sure why. FC's and battery drain. But once I reflash my initial CM7 backup ROM it becomes OK again. So far is it true the battery life improved tremendously with that MotoGinger Teaser ROM thingy?
*
not sure about whther the batt life improved...i got about 1 1/2 day of normal usage (data and wifi only on when necessary, calls, games) which appears to be the same when i use MIUI rom, have not tested CM7 though..

OMG..this is not good..if the casing broke or cracked dun think you can swim/shower with it now..i think you should demand for a replacement or at least fix all those..

Where did you get your defy+?

If you said it was fast and all, why bother to flash back to 2.2 right? Or am I missing something?
*
i think he is talking about the defy+ ROM, not the hardware..

erm.. weird..
coz just turn back my fren phone to stock 2.2 SEA from MIUI 2.3.5 before sending back to seller.
no problem as "cannot downgrade to 2.2" etc

Added on September 26, 2011, 3:04 pm

erm.. been using 23 since friday. battery life is still same as usual.
maybe its coz of some of ur apps or setting?
*
from MIUI back to 2.2 is fine.

I think if you flashed the full SBF of the stock Gingerbread without going thru the nandroid + fixed sbf method, then there will be a problem going back to 2.2

hye all,

Recently I have downloaded cm7 to my defy and the screen was stuck at cm7 screen. I did a data wipe with cache wipe and tried to reboot the phone but still stuck at the same screen.
Somewhere along I must have wipe out something important as now when reboot I am stuck at M logo. My mistake was I did not do a backup and now I am stuck.

Is there any where that I can download the software and reboot the phone back?
Please really need all of ur help as this happen a few days back.

Thanks and regards.
*
if still stuck at M logo, the best way is to start over again by flashing back to Froyo.

thumbup.gif not used to NOT having MIUI interface huh?

I have gone thru other ROMs as well but i prefer MIUI interface.
I am on CMIUI now mainly because it can record wide video with stock camera plus MIUI interface.

Don't know why MIUI does not have wide video recording. Will surely come back to it if it is enable in future nod.gif

i'm now on jboogie2 liquidarc, so how to flash it?
or i must return to stock froyo 2.2.2 sea? rclxub.gif
*
liquidarc is based on CM7 so..it should work if you just:-
1) goto recovery and wipe data/cache
2) flash CMIUI
3) wipe cache and wipe dalvik

if that does not work..just start from froyo again...
