Due to space constraint for my concrete table top, I may need to opt for a free standing cooker at my wet kitchen. But I hardly see anyone talking about it or even using it i believe. Can anyone give me some recommendations or advise please ?

Thanks.

Which type of free standing cooker you are referring to? The big unit thats has multiple hob (and some even has grill function) plus oven or the standalone cooking hob only? If it is the former, most people can't afford those as it is expensive especially the European models. In addition, the flame is not as powerful as it is catered for western cooking style. Of course, it looks very professional and serious!

If you are referring to standalone hob, then this is also not discussed a lot as most people are doing the renovation here. You would want to have as many built as as possible to achieve an integrated and clean look. Personally, while I think freestanding unit is a bit more versatile, it is very ugly ...

I got one given to my aunt at home (mother house)

To me is too bulky, and one section broken, need to send back entire unit to fix. Maybe difference brand got on-site visit.

The integrated standing unit is hardly ugly. In fact it is looking like serious stuff but most of these are from Europe and thus the cooking power is not high. The one that I said ugly is the hob that is moveable and free standing. Do not confuse the 2.

I was initially thinking of standing unit hob at first.. but when I went out to look around. Gosh was those thing fugly! ;P

End hack my concrete (previous owner built) and installed a built in hob.. no regrets!
