QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jan 3 2012, 01:25 AM) The stock engine has one coil that distribute the power to 4 of the plugs.. The idea is to give more ignition n firing power to the plugs, bcos there is one coil for one plug.. Same like saga.. Any one done this to their car here? |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jan 3 2012, 11:59 AM) u need to check campros ECU whether or not it supports multi coil. if it does then theres a possibility u could do it easily... I see, thank you.. I saw an evo in subang goodyear court area also converted to individual coil... Have to google bit more bout this... otherwise, get ready for standalone management |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jan 3 2012, 11:59 AM) u need to check campros ECU whether or not it supports multi coil. if it does then theres a possibility u could do it easily... Hey ive checked with some of my friends... They say that if i want to change it to individual coil, i might as well change the management... They quote me with to types that is the haltech and unichip... My question here is, who does the setting on the mangement? Or is it automaticly set to the engines requirement?otherwise, get ready for standalone management |

QUOTE(sexbomb @ Jan 5 2012, 04:46 PM) just to tell u in advance, once you have bought - install - tune the management....and plan for further upgrades/mod you will need to retune again. it cost $$$ for each retuning. If that is the case, what should i do now?so mod smart. management usually comes last |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jan 5 2012, 06:06 PM) imagine putting so much muscle over a long period of time... but not being able to tune it properly....not really a good idea. like example going super high comp...but cant tune a/f and u end up pinging like hell..... retuning again and again may cost money... but at least its safe and u get to see ur improvements with every mod. I think it is safe to get the management for now, and future mod... Plug and play mod doesnt give me any significant power increase.. About that, im not even sure... I believe it wil have an increase in power... Other than playing with cams and ect, i think ill try and do something that is diffrent... Thank you for your advice... I will info you about this mod in future... |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jan 5 2012, 07:35 PM) agreed...other mods that doesnt require management would be more ideal... The mods i have done is:but if u insist on going with the COP conversion first.. then ull have no choice but to go management to support the coils. which u can also do it first... but as mentioned.. retuning is advisable to support ur future mods. but again... the justification of cost vs gains is another thing to consider in regards to the COP. for all u know, it just might be better (and cheaper) to get something from MSD. perhaps dibo should list out all his mods done and mods in the future IN PROPER ORDER according to this plans.. then mebbe we can see where to slot in the management part (n mebbe the coils oso) - cf hood - rpf 1 (16") - exhaust header (marco) - r3 spring - cross drill and slotted disc (front n rear) - denso iridium spark plugs Future mods is: - COP Hope you can guide me on which comes first... I would prefer light modification... Ive read the whole thread since v1.. Seems like most of the mods are LCP, ACP, cam adjustment, exhaust systems, ect... Please guide me... Added on January 5, 2012, 8:12 pm QUOTE(archonixm @ Jan 5 2012, 08:04 PM) Management comes last only if you can leave ur car and never touch it. Just mod mod mod without using...imagine u tune last, and the moment u drive ur car, knocked and blown engine, jsut because u want to save the tuning fees and do it last. Unless you only do minor mod like exhaust piping, cam pulley, fly wheel, iridium spark plug. Haha... U got a point there... I cant find the like button in this forum.. Lol..This post has been edited by dibo: Jan 5 2012, 08:12 PM |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jan 5 2012, 08:14 PM) considering that uve already done all that.....and ur only future mod is COP... then i guess the management and COP should be done 1 shot la...since u kinda have to do ur management if u wanna go COP. Can you explain more on what is the difference between a piggyback and management... Most of the mod i made previously is more to lightweighting the car...and FYI, management, especially standalones, is not something most people would consider as "light mod" haltech would prolly cost u around 4k...not inclusive of COP. u can get piggybacks like unichip which would cost slightly more than half that...but not sure if it supports COP or not..i kinda doubt it honestly. other mods u can consider would be port n polish... bigger throttle body or rebore current throttle body etc etc |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jan 5 2012, 08:30 PM) piggyback is a management... Yes, i got it all confused... Thanks tho... Appreaciate it very much... Thanks for the advice too...but i think u mean piggyback vs standalone? if standalone means it totally replaces ur stock ecu... piggyback is basically an addition to ur stock ecu. u get more tuning options with standalone...coz ur basically starting the tune from scratch... piggyback is basically just altering the stock ecu settings Added on January 5, 2012, 8:55 pm QUOTE(archonixm @ Jan 5 2012, 08:40 PM) Where is your high flow air filter, since u already de-cat, and 4-1 extractor. The air goes in slow but come out fast, the engine doesn't pump the air out as fast at it could. I suggest u do Rebored throttle body and Rebored Intake Manifold and PNP one shot. Then a nicely tuned AFR with advancing the ignition timing could be done to maximise the engine performance. I changed mine to 4-2-1... I dont think i want to change the filter... Since the car already have the CAI system mounted in front... Thus changing it to hi flow doesnt give much difference... I think its better to pakai buang rather than keep on using the same by just washing on and on... Sayang engine lohh... Hehe... You have a nice plan there, for sure will gain more extra ponies out of the engine with that mod... but my car is still new... Pnp n rebored tb maybe not in this near time... Btw thanks you guys...
