Bought my persona SE in Mar 2009.

Now, 2 years 3 months, 48000 km, got extended warranty by Proton to 5 years / 175,000 km.

Keep perfect service record, every 5,000 km at Proton SC.

Incident:

21 July 2011:

while driving on NKVE, my SE suddenly losing power, shaking badly, park at road side, tried start, engine die off immediately after start with rattling sound in engine bay.

what made me very angry was, i called Proton i-care, the line was not available, it keeps saying the number that i dail was not available. End up called Proton SC at SS14, they arrange tow truck immediately. Proton i-care...listen carefully..you suck...when i need you, you were not there...useless.
call tow car, sent to Proton SC at SS14. Service Manager checked, found:-

- no compression in cylinder #1;
- open engine found one of the valve was broken;
- need to replace the whole cylinder head;
- if "bayar sendiri" cost = RM4k - 5k;
- of course claim extended warranty lah...still waiting for approval...... 

My View:
this is the first time, driving numerous cars for the past 20 years, encountered such serious problem, broken valve, got to replace the cylinder head. The most sad thing is this is a brand new car. I keep perfect service records, no one notice the problem in every service, i wonder why?

any of you have the similar problem?

i am concern after repairing will have continuous problems...really headache....losing confident on my persona already...

no lah.. i pakai B line.. Doesnt come with GPS.. Still relying on my trusty N97 with Hacked Garmin XT and malfreemap.
But the previous time when i drove the Inspira and Lancer GT, it didnt feel like the Sylphy, u can see the revs climbing and dropping as well as the gearchange.. Mb they activate the ala Saga FLX SAT system fulltime.
Mine B line lah.. Habuk also wont get.. It isnt bundled together in the price.
Any idea what was the reason it spoilt?
For some info, can provide what engine oil and petrol brand u have been using all these while?
Ur case seems to be rather similar with one of our forumers here, except urs is much milder case.
The squeky sound tell them to tightened the undercarriage for u.. It should solve the prob..
Crank shaft angle sensor I presume? That has been one huge problem for Persona in the past.. Didnt know it still was creating problem now.

maybe after boost kick in still same speed unless going for higher boost. i asked b4. he said turbo is not necessary about power. for the low torque car with lag like campro if low boost say 0.3can help to get even better fc than normal one. he told me when i asked about the fc increase. hahahaha~~he also said that i will be able to maintain the same fc with increase in power.
i holiday lor. so no sleep. going for part time job 2moro edi.

oh...the auto cannot tahan ahh...so if really wan to go for stage2 need to change trans??
hmm...stage 1 is good enough for now being. when u get used to the power, u will want more.
i imagined the price will be expensive.
so one of ur piston got problem lor. seriously i will say this. normally this things wont just spoil like that. i assume that there will be symptoms. the problem lies at whether ur mechanic at the SC identified it for you. My SC always checked for the piston, piston ring and other. this is bcoz i am always late for my service for minimum 2k. Still they checked it for me. because it is common that a car breaks down. even mercedes burnt down on the highway. i saw one. new c-class somemore. and that person is standing metres away looking at the fire eating his car up. btw besides this u have any other problem with ur car?? dun lose confident lah. persona still nice to drive mah.
