So uncle benny and all who can help me out...these is the 4 files after extracted:

1.  CODE_I9100XWKF1_CL265340_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
2.  GT_I9100_MULTI_CSC_OLBKE5_tar.md5
3.  KERNEL_I9100XWKF1_CL265340_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
4.  MODEM_I9100DXKF1_REV_02_CL1017685.tar.md5

so if i'm going to use Odin to flashback...which goes to which box in Odin? i can recognize file #2 to CSC, #3 to PDA and #4 to Phone. So does this make file #1 to Bootloader?am i right or wrong?please advise and tq in advance
*
File 1 is PDA
file 3 is kernel this is optional. If you want to flash this do it after successful flash firmware. Set it as pda in odin and do not select repartition

Yesterday I ranted about new users asking me questions which the answers are there if they even bother to read. Yesterday and this morning in total 5 PM to me asking essentially this : " Litening rom I want to flash do I need to root or not ?"
I find such questions really depressing and just irritating when such new users want to flash a rom and clearly never bother to read features of the rom . I quote here taken from Litening thread his very FIRST sentence about his rom:

Note
The Lite'ning Rom v1.0 will not wipe your apps and data and it's not necessary to root your SGS II before you can flash the Lite'ning Rom.
After flashing the Lite'ning Rom your SGS II will be rooted.

So, to those new users who I have burst out - very sorry. To up coming new users who plan to flash any rom, please read the rom features. Ask only if you do not understand after reading. Don't even bother to ask if you did not even take effort to read

Sifus.....now I am ready to do my first ROM, as recommended by uncle Benny, I shall try Litening ROM first. But my question is: I want to revert to stock if something goes wrong, so do I have to buy an Micro SD card and then use Nanbackup to backup first? Sorry if ask wrong or duplicate question. Thanks in advance.
*
All backup will go into your internal SD card : you will see folder clockworkmod/backup
However it is a GOOD practice to copy this also into a external micro SD card as another backup

Hi Nicregi, mind telling me wat is soft & hard reset? how can i do it? Sorry a bit noob here as tis is my 1st smartphone.
*
Soft reset is just to restart your phone - nothing will change - it will clear files that jam up your phone at cache. Just switch off and switch it back on. If you are on a cook rom - you might see additional options for you to select " Reboot"
Hard reset - will wipe phone clean and give you back a stock status just before you install any apps, data etc - refer page 1 FAQ I written a long post on various hard reset methods

Guys who wants to flash rom, JUST DO IT alright?

Samsung's android phones are very very very hard to brick! It is almost near to impossible.

Just go experiment it, if you face problem then post it here, don't disturb other people without reading first.
*
RIGHT ON !! If one is the K-K type go buy a JIG first for RM 30 only as a security to revive bricking issues. Refer page 1 Accessory for link to purchase from a lowyat forumer

Why not people answer my this question?
*
First of all , don't be so rude. No one is obliged to answer you
Nobody is answering you because you are asking a question which I believe no one knows the answer. Samsung has so many factories all over the world. Does it matter as long as their QC is well managed. Heck - maybe is made in Malaysia
Anyway - I check my phone. The battery is listed " MADE IN KOREA". I took out the battery and there is a sticker below pasted on the phone: MADE IN KOREA BY SAMSUNG

You are on Gingerbread not Eclair or Froyo. You have 2GB for apps and 12+ GB for apps support data . Why are you planning moving apps ?? Read page 1 FAQ if you do not understand Samsung's memory

Im about to flash Litening 2.0, do u means the stock browser in Litening 2.0 has been replaced by Skyfire?
*
This is not an issue at all . You can download the browser.apk file from Litening thread . Use Root explorer - copy the browser.apk file to /system/app
Reset phone and browser is installed , named Internet. I have google it for you ....You cannot click on apk to install

im trying to flash Cognition v1.11 from CWM recovery. select the zip file from internal sdcard, let it run flash.. but the installation aborted with RED MSG "E: signature recognition failed". any idea anyone??

Added on July 11, 2011, 5:40 pmis it i need to upgrade to latest firmware? (coz i read this ROM was builg based on XXXKG1)
*
The firmware build XXXKG! is built inside the rom . Most probably your download zip file is corrupted. Try check and see whether you can successfully extract it on computer

You just need to put the zip file in the internal SD. Go to recovery mode and just select zip to flash. Do remember to clear cache partition and at advanced, clear dalvik before you flash the zip file

What is deodexed? biggrin.gif
*
In Android file system, applications come in packages with the extension .apk. These application packages, or APKs contain certain .odex files whose supposed function is to save space. These ‘odex’ files are actually collections of parts of an application that are optimized before booting. Doing so speeds up the boot process, as it preloads part of an application. On the other hand, it also makes hacking those applications difficult because a part of the coding has already been extracted to another location before execution.

THEN COMES DEODEX

Deodexing is basically repackaging of these APKs in a certain way, such that they are reassembled into classes.dex files. By doing that, all pieces of an application package are put together back in one place, thus eliminating the worry of a modified APK conflicting with some separate odexed parts.

In summary, Deodexed ROMs (or APKs) have all their application packages put back together in one place, allowing for easy modification such as theming. Since no pieces of code are coming from any external location, custom ROMs or APKs are always deodexed to ensure integrity.

Chainfire has released his KG1 version already. He was pissed off that somebody took his and mod it without permission and hijack his thread posting it. I suggest better to use his version rather than the mod version

This is the stock ( non mod) KG1 rom ( 2.3.4 ) for those who are interested:

Download Link Stock XXKG1 : http://www.multiupload.com/2EMBQMYF4V

To install via ODIN choose: (Note: This will wipe your Apps but SD Card and Internal Storage Data will remain intact)

Phone - MODEM_I9100XXKG1_REV_02_CL1034110.tar
PDA - CODE_I9100XXKG1_CL349526_REV02_user_low_ship.tar
CSC - GT-I9100-CSC-MULTI-OXAKG1.tar

There's no need to use the .pit file and do not tick mark re-partition.

what is the best rom now?
*
The official stock rom latest 2.3.4 is very good. I normally do not say good stuffs about stock rom but this is indeed exceptional. Have dump those cook versions based on it, villian, angeloM and litening. Most impressive battery life i rough estimate twice better than the cook roms

just noticed... cases for sgs2 usually leave the top right corner (when the phone is facing you) 'open'.

i'm using sgp's ultra silke and if i'm not mistaken, an unfortunate drop on this angle should actually hit the phone rather than the casing.

checked the manual and it does not mention of any sensors there... any reason why case makers leave that portion 'open'? i checked a few other cases for sgs2 and its the same thing.

Is the apps prob or my fon hardware prob?

Thx
*
Hanging n freeze normally due to apps interference ESP apps from dubious sources eg blackmarket n crack app. 2 months using mine never face a single case of hang n freeze that why I say phone close to perfect I ever use

Just to clarify.
There are 2 variants of this phone over in Korea. One being SK/KT release which does not have the antenna and the other LG+ which has DVB support (aka TV) and the need to have the antenna port. The bulk of the S2 users here in Korea are the SK/KT users.

Not all Korean cases are built to have the antenna opening and likewise not all Korean cases are designed to cover all.
*
True. Mine Argos from Korea but than when I buy I make sure the model I want does not have the hole
