anyone has tried following the step-by-step on how to calibrate your battery?

i'm gonna do the FIRST charge of the phone.

No need so complicated, just go to market download the software called 'Battery Calibration'

on your virgin sgs2, run it down to 0% then do a full charge with the phone off. that's what i normally do with a new gadget.

btw u just flashed villainrom 2.0, it is quite good. i flashed the lite version btw.

full means the normal bloatware is still in the rom, the lite version means the cook takes out most of the app including google apps, so you gotta download back the apps you need, the reason why i installed the lite version is i don't like my phone to have all the bloatware. alternatively you can installed the normal version and use titanium backup to freeze apps that you don't need. So the lite version is for ppl who are lazy like me. haha

I was wondering will screen protector cause blue tinted screen?i am using normal clear screen protector..

flashed to CF.. booted try load ok, then purchased Ultimate version edi.. hahaha.. thx for all for the tips and help.. 

Sifus, I think I am gonna get flamed, but I am going to venture what I think is a my own accessment of the SGS2.

I don't think you should be flamed. Why? This is a discussion place so all comments should be welcome (unless you on purpose then is different case)

1. The hardware is super, the camera is great.
2. The UI is unpolished (understatement). Many things is hidden under multiple levels of menu, and involve too many clicks to access.
3. Some things work and some don't. APNDroid does not seem to work. Paypal and BUMP cannot install. So stock ROM is hopeless, unless you root.
4. Battery life sucks, even with juice defender installed. Paid for Tasker, but unfortunately cannot set data to off, late at night and still consume quite an amount of battery. Got tasker to set Wifi off, bluetooth off, GPS off. Perhaps it's just me, or I am playing with it a bit, but I would expect 2 days of battery life with lite or moderate usage.

Perhaps I am wrong, but I would not recommend to friends at this time, comments are welcome.

Anyone experience, sometimes I go online using 3G, browsing internet or facebook halfway... the 3G services will be cacat...
Cannot go online anymore... then I tried to disable the Packet Data and Enable back..
Still cannot... The 3G icon totally gone.. the signal bar is full...
Then I clear cache... try enable and disable few times.. then the service only back to normal...
Is it the stock rom have this kind of issues??

Wifi is not needed to send/receive MMS. Go to maxis homepage and get the settings sent to your phone.
I prefer clear over matte, matte destroys the nice screen. Only half a day and i already regretted having matte sp. Gorilla glass is not scratch proof my friend. Its only scratch resistant.

Not trying purposely, just that I think many would not be happy when I say something negative when they have splashed big money to get a super phone. I like this phone, if the custom ROM can make it more user friendly the it can kick some fruity ass.
Exactly, I am itching for the UI to be better. The rest of the stuff is already better.
Thanks. The easiest way currently is using the power button, but if I can get a shortcut to it and press it on screen the it would be much easier.

Of course it's normal to cost money when sending MMS, but what I'm asking is when receiving MMS.

I deleted battery stats via cwm and today, sei face the same issue.

Phone couldn't on when I woke up. Got to battery pull. Battery was 84% only.

The only setting I have is when screen off, power is 200-500 via Setcpu, titanium backup auto reboot at 6 after finish backup.

So what is the problem? Battery shows that I have 84% when I have charged it whole night. Setting is wrong?

Putting at 200 guarantee phone will not wakeup after long period of idle

i am on litening 2.2 rom and last night i encountered a situation where i cannot make/receive any calls without knowing it until i was told by my wife that she cannot reach me after making humpteenth attempt to call me. then i tried to call her to show that i am not on the wrong side but unfortunately the call ended mysteriously. After a simple rebbot everything is solved...
but my questions is, how do we know that the problem happens? i am afraid if something emergency happens and that time i cannot recieve any calls... anyone encountered this issue before?
p/s: i was surfing using H+ connection with no problem though...

Different chip? Mine is at 1275 as well. Maybe your kernel?

Wifi off, data off, 3G wanna off but duno how, sync off, sms and phone only. I'm sleeping so it's alright.

off wifi: ranged from 2% to 8% drop.

on wifi and background sync: 12% to 34% drop. the time it drops 34% i was like WTF?????
