QUOTE Noticing a slight vibrating noise coming from somewhere around the dashboard of my Golf 1.4 TSI when I moderately accelerate from 1st or 2nd gear. The vibration goes away in a few seconds, but it sounds quite annoying.
Car is very new, mileage around 500km only.
Anyone knows if this is normal? Yes, noticed that also, but I think it doesn't come from dashboard, its from the engine...? it goes away after the car at D3 or higher when the car moves to 40+km/h...anyone seeing the same thing??

another thing, when i wanted to overtake juz now on my tsi, i stepped all the way down on my accelerator, but it juz didn't want to move much, i was in 'D' gear, like D5, and saw the rpm went from ~2k to 4k, around 80km/h, with air-con 24C on. But it felt like the car didn't want to move...mileage only ~28xx...please advise...thanks..

GTI also feel power loss ?? =.=" Mmm, just now around 7pm+, drizzling day...so temperature not as hot..my air-con is 1 LED lights up only, 1 speed nia...so tot its not bcoz of huge air-con blowing...and nope, not slope..flat road... Checked my engine oil, not thick, and slighly black/dark...but my mileage 2.8k+ only..so i think its not bcoz of engine oil too?

QUOTE(sonictheory @ Aug 26 2011, 02:15 PM) go have a scan in SC. mine recently felt not smooth when accelerate, den after 15k service, 2 days later when I accelerate, straight keluar EPC light + engine light, whole car straight cant pick up, RPM stay 2-3k and car shaking. den go SC have a scan, results come out my Spark plug kong d... nit to change, now back to normal liao. SA said probably the spark plug from germany not ngam in Malaysia. now with this scanning, many problem shall easily verified & rectified. btw anyone gone stage 1 in TSI? any experience? that SA poison me to go for remap. saying remapping with them, warranty will stay. and will gain around 40-50hp, price around 3k+..looks tempting, but is it worth it? or might aswell go for stock GTI? what is the process called? "scan"? so I just tell them 'scan my car'? =.= sorry noob here... and btw, why particular spark plug in Tsi from Germany not ngam Malaysia??

ok...meaning it "auto" revs up the engine, 1 question here, if we let it free-wheel(no pedal pressing) at the time we change D->S, will it jerk? Or we need to press the pedal when changing? If we press pedal when changing D->S, the car will suddenly accelerates ahead?

QUOTE(ronaldjoe @ Sep 24 2011, 11:58 PM) It's not jerk. When it's in S mode, it would engage lower gear and pull to towards red line more before changing. Your foot need have a good technique to control pedal. DSG is more like manual, lifting your foot abruptly from the pedal would give you the sudden 'jerk'. Once you get used to it, driving a GTI is like taming a wolf to behave like a 'sheep'. That's my personal experience. hmm thanks for the advice..will try when traffic condition is clear . thanks
