to extend 10feet width, take care few important point:

- new footing needed, must tie together with existing to avoid sink
- ask for new roof shape design how to connect to existing
- u may need to upgrade electric supply from 63A to 100A (1-phase) ?

2 Footing for 10 x 60" renovation? Are you sure?

I think you can't re-using the old roof if you intend to stick your new design and old house...
*
as far as i know, the 2 footing is for the 10X40 expansion. there will be another 2 footing for the enlarge car porch.
why cannot re-use the old roof? sweat.gif

as you can see, because the land is not "square", have to leave 10 feet land at the side, so the maximum i can expend is arround 10 feet at the back.

Single story can do 1 1/2 story, worth considering.

this is also my initial idea, but due to budget.......this house is not within Klang Valley, additional investment may not improve the value of the house...... cry.gif

Added on July 21, 2011, 6:05 pmmore or less settled with the option B roof design, now waiting the approval n also 2nd quotation from 3 selected contractor.

somehow from the proposed layout that you provided your

wet kitchen doesn't seem right, location wise...

better put the wet kitchen to bedroom2
and resize the wet kitchen to be your bedroom2

you got your point. hmm.gif
