Seriously I start to wonder, are we all after handsome guy?
We were not interested in Meireles before, but right after he had a new hair style, we suddenly rumored that we're in for him. Oh btw, his hair style is freaking cool! Oh mai, hyper mode at 6.12am early in the morning surely made my day! |

LOL xhacker!
Arteta to Arsenal, Meireles to Chelsea. Both 28 years old. Meireles might cost few millions more. Who got the gem? Let's see. |

I think the signing of Meireles also has positive effects on our young Josh. It will develops completely with Meireles. Modric is a bit too young, 25 years old. By the time Modric is aging, Josh is also 25 years old. A bit too slow.
Plus, I am happy with Chelsea this time. No more silly move, 40m for Modric? nah. Don't think we're stupid Spurs. |

So, from what I understand from Meireles play style, he will play behind the strikers. We will play 4231.
Torres Mata Meireles Sturridge Mikel/Lamp Ramires Isn't awesome to see Mata back to his left wing? One more reason why we do not sign Modric: Modric doesn't really play behind the strikers, he plays in a deeper role. Imagine if we get Modric, Torres Mata Lampard Sturridge Modric Mikel/Ramires With Lampard aging, we gonna spend another 30-50m on a player who plays behind the striker AGAIN? You say Mata can play behind the strikers, yes, then we gonna spend lots of money on a winger again? It's all connected. Good deal Chelsea, it impresses me. QUOTE(Nitheon @ Sep 1 2011, 06:49 AM) When did Mata ever leave the left wing? When he came on for Malouda against Norwich, he was a left sided forward in a 4-3-3. The disappointment of us not getting Modric is obviously huge for you. Do you think we're going to change our formation to a 4-2-3-1 because of Meireles? AVB wouldn't even do that to accommodate Torres, let alone some buffer signing to boost the midfield numbers. If we got no one like Modric,Meireles and went for Pereira/Ribery, Mata will switch to a middle role. AVB said, we're versatile in many formations, 4231 or 433. But with AVB playing wide forwards in 433, then it's pretty same with 4231. |

QUOTE(joanneway @ Sep 1 2011, 02:00 PM) problem is he from liverpool. none of liverpool players fit on chelsea doesn't matter the best manager or coaches applied. it won't work. Excuse me, Benayoun and Torres are the only ex-liverpool players after RA took over. And both of them are under the same manager, Carlo. I am not here to blame Carlo, but his winning formula was to play all the experience seniors who are already very old now.this season only man city can fight man utd. i hope man utd stay 3rd spot. but this season 3rd spot or 4th spot might be chelsea. liverpool come strong from behind by sold off those useless punk. like poulsen, bellamy, meireles, cole, jovanic, etc u guys should notice, each time howard webb starting under man utd games, man utd rarely lost a game. c the record. when i saw arsenal match that night saw webb was there.. Bellamy WAS BOUGHT by Liverpool, not sold. and Meireles IS NOT a useless punk. I don't like comparing Raul and Luka. Both players are class, maybe Modric might be a bit better though. I actually don't understand any "creativity' stuff. In my opinion, a team creativity doesn't come from a single player, it comes from the 11 players, yes including the keeper. Whenever the 11 players gel together, the creativity will come. Modric's long passes ability has been incredible, but just a little bit better than Meireles. But when it comes to attacking, Meireles is the man. He has wonderful technique with his foot. As I said before, the reason why we signed Meireles instead of Modric is not only the price tag, it actually give some positive signs to our youth system. Our young stars are developing, the manager wants a signing like Meireles to provide the support we need in short term while we wait for the young stars in the making to develop. A bit harsh here, but I got to say it. As a fan of the football club, we need to get behind AVB and the team and show some faith. This post has been edited by ericling: Sep 1 2011, 02:38 PM |

QUOTE(yinchet @ Sep 1 2011, 02:54 PM) well said. 40m cost more than a true talent guy, Fabregas! When the price tag when to 40mil I was WTF. it even more expensive than Samir Nasri. I'm sure there are much better midfielder that fits into 40mil bill. Miereles is a good player, But have to see how he fits in the teams. quite excited to see more debut coming from our new player. True, wish Meireles all the best and finger crossed so that he can gel well with the team! It's really exciting but too bad, Meireles is now carrying an injury, he might not start until next 2-3 games. Lukaku will start on the bench I think The boring internationals in on this week. Got to wait for another week |

QUOTE(HumbleCMY @ Sep 2 2011, 07:12 AM) Lukaku himself said he only thinking of training at Chelsea now and slowly breaking into team. He didn't demand 1st team action . (True Chelsea fan this boy) This guy's attitude is unbelievable good. He's the young player we need, I believe he can even influence other young players too.Having the right attitude will allow them to develop perfectly and will definitely step up in the future. |

ijamz, you're right if that's Premier League. Champions league has a different rules.
Well, Lukaku can still play in Premier League, I am happy about it. And I heard that we can add 3 new players when we reached round of sixteen, am I right? |

It's pretty easy for me.
Mata Torres Sturridge Lampard Mikel Ramires Cole Iva Terry Bos Cech Ivanovic was a bit clumsy last match, but will not rush Luiz for comeback. The front three need to start because we are facing MU next PL match, better get prepared with our best front three. Mikel->Meireles with Ramires switch to middle with a box to box defensive midfield role. A bit "FM" style of formation: Torres Mata Lampard Sturridge Meireles Ramires I have doubts on Lampard playing behind the striker, not sure can he do magic there. Meireles played as a holding defensive midfield on his early time in Porto. AVB might try this again, let's see how it works. Ramires and Meireles interchanging with the role of attacking and defence. One go up, one go down. Just like Khedira-Schweinsteiger in Germany. I have faith on AVB, I have no worry This post has been edited by ericling: Sep 6 2011, 05:09 PM |
