Did you guys remember few years ago everyone was raging to get ACE engine oil that was cheaper than normal branded engine oil? Some even added tuffoil inside. Then after that fad has went everyone went Eneos because it is cheap and Japanese. Then it was Idemitsu.

All in all, every oil is almost the same. Don't like change brand. If you want really expensive engine oil its either Royal Purple or Ravenol. And there are only 2 places to get them.

When i change oil, i'm using those better brand ones like Repsol, Castrol blah blah. But for me the most important is oil weight. I usually go for 15-50 or 15-60w. Rare weights on the cheap scale that made them not cheap. I do have Tesco 10-40 semi for my top up. Would rather buy this than single weight top up which does not add to anything. But you are right, any normal driving does not need expensive oils.

I'm still pondering if it is true some NGV taxi are using cooking oil to lube their cars...
