agreed with abg wan. abam 8 why not u try with quad core 1st & check whether d 2 unlocked cores are holdin d chip back? if d voltage needed for x6 is too high i'd rather stick to quad for 24/7. smile.gif

here was my best attempt on a 1055t. icon_rolleyes.gif

i believe d heat come from d toasty fet instead. smile.gif

yah just download.. confuse la, it's refers to which voltage..
i disable LLC for cpu-nb.. so it will fix on 1.35v..
cpu still on auto.. so far priming is ok.. @ 1.45v..

i want to push also.. cpu temp already 70+..
my noctua sudah tua la..  laugh.gif
*
LLC on 9xx series is abit diff than d 8xx series. for 8xx, i always enable cpu & disable cpu-nb. but for 9xx, it's more complicated. got those percentage thingy. for cpu, i always put 120%~130%, cpu-nb always a notch lower than d former. smile.gif

post ya oc setup, include voltages value too. it's hard for us to guess by just lookin at d benchies, not d details of ya oc'ed setup. sweat.gif

u need to check whether it's

1. cpu
2. ram
3. imc

is causin d instability. eliminates 2 of those 3 values at a times so that u can find out what's d culprit. sorry to say that gd65 ain'tt really a superb clocker board, but still decent enuf i reckon considerin ya clocks are still pretty much non extreme. smile.gif

er this one is not enough ke?

ram volt 1.66Vdimm, 14XX CL8-9-9  (KHX2133C10)
ram divider at 1066
cpu-nb speed : 2730Mhz
cpu-nb volt : 1.288V

cpu only 3.8Ghz (phenom II Deneb C3 945 3.0Ghz), but slightly high vcore : 1.48Vcore
using MSi 990FXA GD65

erm... what more...
HT Link close to 2000Mhz, stock volt
nb volt at stock

Added on March 26, 2012, 4:38 pmforgot to mention. when i'm using lower divider ram, lower cpu-nb clock, lower HT link, the proc still need a high voltage to run any bench.

3.7Ghz 1.45Vcore
3.8Ghz 1.48-1.49Vcore
3.9Ghz 1.49-1.51 still crash/ BSOD, cannot run any 3dmark bench and wPrime
*
if that's d case most likely u got a bad chip. from all 945 i've seen, none of 'em are good clocker, eventhou bein a c3 chip. keep imc @ 2500, ram 1600ish @ 9-9-9/8-9-8 w/ 1.65v, cpu clock wise u gotta try which is d combo (clock & vcore) ya coolin is comfortable with. smile.gif

it's very useful for quickie or finetuniin, however for 24/7 setup, i'd prefer set it @ bios. nod.gif

but still bios have minimal cosmetics bugs..

and i notice near PWM there freaky hot ler.. should i blow with fan?
but mobo temp still ok..

y not 97 evo bro? i believe d price diff is negligible. dunno why but i always prefer evo than vanila version, well, mebe i'm just bein cautious w d naming... tongue.gif

better safe than sorry bro, so i'd say actively cool d pwm is a "play safe" move. those fets will get toasty once d clock & amount of juice increased. sweat.gif

nice attempt there mate. UEFI or not, mild oc with asus boards (mid range of 8xx series onwards) is really fun & hassle free provided d chip & ram playin nice w d board. u mite wanna re-seat ya gfx/check bios setting coz it's runin on pci-e 1.1 instead of 2.0 mode. smile.gif

being tested this ram : KHX2133C9AD3T1
on the same setup as winova
mobo : MSI 990FXA GD65
ram : KHX 2133C9 (KHX T1)
proc : phenom II X4 945 C3 Deneb
PSU : ST56F

objective : to find the limit of this ram speed at low Cas Latency (CL)
all other clock (proc, cpu-nb, HT link) running at lower speed.
i set the ram at 1600 CL 7-7-7 @1.56Vdimm-1.656Vdimm, it won't boot
got warning at post screen

i'm tired of waiting due to slow boot from this mobo.
after many try and error, adding voltage, loose the timing, i only can boot into windows
at 1600 CL8-8-8 @ 1.656Vdimm. CL7-8-7,7-9-7 cannot boot even at 1.69vdimm

at 1800 CL9, it wont boot at all after pushing some vdimm.
this module used to work perfect on intel rig (my friends rig, i borrowed this module from him)
(SB i5K + asrock Z68 Fatal1ty) running at 2133 CL9-11-9 @1.65Vdimm
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

maybe this ram not compatible with my setup. the other one is KHX Genesis 2133C10
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

this ram behavior is almost the same as KHX T1.
for my AMD setup, the winova 2GbX2 perform better, can set 1600 CL7-7-7 at 1.605Vdimm.
both KHX cannot even boot at CL7 @1.656Vdimm. since they cannot boot at CL7 (1600Mhz),
so i think i'll stick to winova. cannot afford too buy PSC/ BBSE stick module..

the only problem i have so far, i think my proc is not a good chip. i'm gonna hunt a thuban or zosma core
the limit and score for the proc (Deneb 945) almost similar from this MSi 990FXA GD65
and my previous mobo Asus M4A87TD/USB3

wish i can get any 96X BE or 960T sad.gif

as mentioned by bro 8tvt, on phenomII, certain ram multi dislike certain freq. make sure u tried a fix freq & timing (say 1600 @7-7-7) usin diff ram multi & htt. keep up d good works dude, it's been a while since we last see a new regular with enthusiasm like yas, we will help as much as possible (thou i got nothing much to offer). don't lose hope, but don't set goal too high too to avoid disappointment. may i know what gfx ur usin? ya psu seems abit "just enuf for mild oc" to me. smile.gif

QUOTE(8tvt @ Mar 31 2012, 09:47 AM)
u know what.. it might be coz of the IMC..
one thing that u need to know when clocking amd..
some cpu n mobo convenient with certain multi or divider..
this is the beauty of overclocking amd..

which means.. there are alot of variable involve..
u can't just select 1 htt or cpu multi to get the best results..

don't make this 'alot of setting work' to set your mind as hard task..
every inch of value in the bios is useful..
make it positive.. this is how the OCer gain their knowledge beside readings..
so happy tweaking..

oh man, still remember pushing the s754 to the limit with very tight ram timing with the crappy mobo..
nowadays mobo much more tolerance wise.. if failed can just switch off.. bios will reset.. last time need jumper man.. and some can't even boot with the same RAM!!!

salute abam 8tvt... notworthy.gif

QUOTE(dafreak @ Mar 31 2012, 10:21 AM)
the problem now I think boils down to:

1) your proc
2) ram chips not playing nice with your proc

btw, dont get a new proc just for that OC comp, you might as well just save money and see how PD will perform when it comes out smile.gif

2100 CL9-9-9 @ 1.648Vdimm is quite good to me. will stress them tomorrow.
maybe 1.648vdimm not enough to run at that speed...

btw , my bios dont have a option M.I.T

i think this is good enough for me . because it make me confuse at my bios .

i run orthos at 10 minutes and no alarm warning me with 220mhz . then when i increase to 225mhz and load window test with orthos at 2 minutes  the alarm warning me and temp like 67c to 70c, so i decrease to 224mhz .. so i think this is my cpu high limit with stock cooler .

if what im doing is wrong . please help me . btw, me so confuse what im doing . and im thinking about update my bios . then i search at many web and can`t download it because link is dead.

can i assume ur usin gigabyte board? if so MIT should be unlckable by pressin ctrl + f1/f2 or something like that iirc. smile.gif

try to get better coolin solution if u were to venture higher oc mileage, else, just play with ram oc with d highest cpu clock u can go with stock cooler. timing surely can be tightened, try 5-5-5 coz cl6 is definitely too loose with that kinda freq. nod.gif

adjust ya K8<->NB HT Speed so that ya ht link can be kept around 1000MHz when htt is being pumped. wink.gif

go to DRAM configuration to manually adjust d ram timing. smile.gif

set K8<->NB HT to 4 (if they go with multiplier) or 800 (if they go for MHz thingy)

cas latency = 5
trcd = 5
trp = 5
tras = 15
command rate = 2t
