Yup, sabertooth 990 smile.gif

Not to say not many giga & msi fans, its just that to me:
1. Giga has limitation on that they are still using old hybrid UEFI.. their oc'ing clock nowadays also not as good the old days..
2. MSI u will get good support and most of their mobo especially the 990FX-GD80 mobo has a good ram tweaking milage but its cpu oc'ing milage when using the newer FX cpu's is the sad part.. Knew a guy who blew his GD80 while ocing his FX8120  whistling.gif  whistling.gif  laugh.gif
*
Lol... true that bro. While uefi is not that important, it's d ram mileage part prevent me goin for giga, despite d sexay look of their matte black pcb. Apart from that, they still continue w d rev thing which make early adopters d white mices. Not to mention d huge vdrop issue on certain models thou they mite get it fixed by now. Other than weaker coolin @ pwm n d drmos which not really favored by many, i'd say msi have had significant improvement. Thou i whine alot but msi always held a special place in my heart. Asus have their own fair share of issues, but hw n sw tools wise they impressed me d most, hence i recommended it to my neighbor. tongue.gif

Is d os installed on diff mobo b4? Try memtesting d ram. Also, try goin into safe mode to check whether its is hw or os issue. If u have problem goin into safe mode there are chances that somethg is wrong with ya hw or bios setting. smile.gif

If can enter safe mode definitely no hw issue ledi. Reformat d windows will do, or uninstall hw driver on previous mobo includin gpu driver. wink.gif

try to stay in safe mode for longer time like 20 mins, if possible, try to run prime95 in safe mode too. if everything goes fine i suspect it's driver issue. hmm.gif

Canvcore be further reduced? It' s kinda high to my liking but nevertheless, congratz of havin it unlocked n stable. Bump a notch or 2 nb muliplier... below stock not gonna help even with high cpu clock. nod.gif

superbly done mate! notworthy.gif nice to see 2300MHz done on chv. vdimm looks fine for such frequency but isn't it d imc volt is a 'lil too high? 1.4v mite degrade it if u were to run it on 24/7... am still strugglin with over 2200MHz on my psc sticks (ocz 2k 9-9-9). sad.gif

can i request for an hour of blend test on 2300MHz. I give up on windows memtest for quite sometimes ledi... tongue.gif

QUOTE(antonio @ Jan 25 2012, 12:08 AM)
more than 1800Mhz ram speed (to be exact 1840) , i need to use nearly 1.5v CPU-NB to allow stability....

I probably will run at lesser ram speed so that I can push the core speed and CPU-NB speed...

Deneb's memory controller doesnt really play high Mhz...1800 is probably the limit....
*
not so sure bout deneb sir but ram oc usin regor/rana had been impressive on asus 8xx boards. i don't remember needin > 1.3v for 1900MHz. perhaps d imc of ya chip has been degraded over times or it just not that into ram oc. smile.gif

QUOTE(kuntawakaw @ Jan 25 2012, 02:30 AM)
not sure about your ram, but with regor/propus 1900Mhz is possible with acceptable vimc also
go grab a sempron!!!

btw nice to see you back.

exactly dato... thumbup.gif

QUOTE(antonio @ Jan 25 2012, 12:48 PM)
Yap...i've been browsing my old posts (deneb) era and found that in order to run 1600 i need to bump up the cpu-nb to achieve stability...the rams i have now is capable of 1866 cl9 1t on intel but arent able to get past 1840 cl9 2t on my new board n old deneb...

propus and rana or even might be better at running higher speeds iirc compared to deneb, which prefers the tightest timing possible....

i will continue to look for a sweetspot and will prime the hell out of it just for the lulz... smile.gif
*
i blame it on d ram sir. 8gb kit could be more taxing or imc i guess, some more corsair ram have not been impressive (bar gt series which cost a bomb) for quite some times already (no offense). i remember clockin a pair of bbse ram on biostar 790gx a3+ @ 1700 (7-7-7) w/ X4 B50, don't think i pumped high imc volt to make 'em stable. smile.gif

well, there's no shame if d hw already been max out sir... as tweaker we just give our best & d rest it's all bout d hw already. nod.gif

QUOTE(jeff88rey @ Jan 25 2012, 03:05 PM)
no prob bro.. will blend it now  smile.gif

the imc volt i still left it on auto.. i will try to lower it
*
thx in advance bro. wink.gif

ripjaws x 1600 cl9 8gb is a biatch eh? so fookin hard to clock 'em... sweat.gif

that's pretty much d max for 24/7 dato, very few can surpass 2700Mhz i reckoned. mine top up @ 2400~2500MHz only. it could be user problem thou. sweat.gif

wow very nice vcore there on 4.5Ghz. Sir, this one is on air cooling or water cooled?
how high the speed ram can this chip sapport..
any superpi and aida64 memory benchmark? aida64 cpu queen?
*
as mentioned, it was done on entry level wc. smile.gif

one cant expect value ram to do wonders nowadays, considerin how cheap they're priced. 1600 is possible but don't expect same timing, infact, they need to be loosened alot. sweat.gif

not that i dont wanna do a review, but it's kinda pointless to me as we all know fx will be humiliated by its predecessors in most test. sad.gif

QUOTE(lengchai86 @ Feb 28 2012, 09:44 PM)
loor... if on air, how much estimate clock can get with that vcore?
1.39V quite good if can reach 4.0Ghz +...

how about the ram and cpu/nb speed...
*
bd cpu-nb (24/7) clock varies from 2400~2700 (very2 rare), 2400 is quite common for all d chips i tested. nod.gif

i need a pair of decent ram + lotsa reading/questionnaires in order to achieve decent clock on ram, so far i haven't broken 2200MHz wall which is kinda sad. i see ppl doing 2400 or above w/o sweat, well, that's what diff a boy from a man i guess. still lotsa things to be learned. icon_question.gif
