i got 1 router tplink model tl-MR3420. so i want to set it as access point. what i already do is.

1.set wan as dynmic ip
2. disable dhcp .
3. change modem lan ip to other ip example. main router ip 192.168.1.1 so i set tplink to 192.168.0.1
4. at status wan obtaining ip succesful

so the problem is my pc connect to tplink using auto ip , but it got limited access. why my pc cant get ip from main router through tplink? what im missing ?
please help.

you need to have same ip eg: router 192.168.1.1 , TP Link AP 192.168.1.x. From there you can access each other setup. gd luck.

WAN ip address should set to dhcp as its provided by ISP...

LAN ip should reside in same subnet as what kakarocht said

i not really understand there. for my second router (tp link ) what setting should i take? ppoe? of coz not rite? i take dynamic ip . from quick setup

Auto-Detect - Let the Router automatically detect the connection type your ISP provides.
PPPoE - For this connection, your will need your account name and password from your ISP.
Dynamic IP - Your ISP uses a DHCP service to assign your Router an IP address when connecting to the Internet.
Static IP - This type of connection uses a permanent, fixed (static) IP address that your ISP assigned.

so which 1 should i take to set my tplink as access point?

@TS - If you want to use your TP-Link AP don't use the WAN Port. Just plug to LAN port only. Set the LAN IP same as your main router IP range (192.168.1.xxx/24). Try again.

I found my problem like TS also.. If i put at WAN port cant be AP.so then i put at Lan port. wired is working perfectly..but wifi limited access..

BTW how to set 3420 as AP using WAN xtually?

always get this "WAN IP address and LAN IP address cannot be in a same subnet. Please input another IP address."

I using Yes ZOOM as modem..then my old tplink ml-3420 as AP.

Zoom and MR3420 shared the same log-in IP of 192.168.1.1, will this actually affect the setup?

You want to make the router an access point? Just an access point without connection to your ISP? You have another device like a modem that connects to your ISP already is it?

I'm sure TS had it resolved since 2011.
