Yes its is aluminium. We call it sun shade and its work for 2 purpose
1st sun shading of cos
2nd as curtain.
Not all kind of house can be install with this type aluminium its depend on the house situation much. This kind of shading comes in various type and dont expect the price would be cheap as it require a high labour cost.

alum, metal or what ever material is up to you as far as u willing to pay for it
but in the market usually its made of aluminium
this 1 the above estimated size 4m x 4m
aluminium powder coated
and it will cost around RM 2-3k or even more depend on thickness & specification & quantity ordered

beside for sunshade, curtain, looks
it can also use to cover up your aircon compressor unit
based on the photo there, that area might be a aircon ledge / vent

The picture shows Serena at Bandar Puteri...
The main purpose of that is to prevent people from climbing into the house via the bathroom window, as it is built really close to the wall. Of course, sun shades too... although i doubt u can hide a compressor there, due to space constrains...

Those are not really kayu. It is something like composite mix of some material. But really look like kayu. I just learn this from the exhibtion last week.
