QUOTE(malaysiaku @ Jul 6 2011, 09:48 AM) hi morning guys, just want to let u ppl know, currently all road entering KL all jam from highway entry point. so just a heads up for this coming 9th july 2011. have fun Hope the bersih rally wont cancel la... Btw, would like to clarify the tax thingy with you guys... I have read that those stay in Singapore for < 183 days consider as non-resident and will be imposed a rate of 15%. Does 183 days consider as working day or just purely staying in Singapore? Thanks!!

QUOTE(deodorant @ Jul 6 2011, 10:02 AM) @yiivei: i think my tax consultant told me that it's 183 working days, not 180 working days + 25 living-in-singapore-on-tourist-visa days. [edit] either my consultant was wrong or my memory fails me. IRAS website: Oh~ But, the IRAS website shows "stay or work"... Cause if the 183 days mean for working day, then i will need to pay a high amount of tax as a NR. Sigh~

Match with what the HR told me. but the status is rejected. So it means rejected? Is it accurate? I mean since the application was just submitted yesterday but today ard put there rejected. Is it accurate and that MOM really read through my document so fast in 1 day? Can you call or email to clarify with the HR? AFAIK, MOM is efficient recently. My pass was approved the next day. From your info, the application was submitted yesterday, and it matched with the date. So, i guess most probably your application was rejected.

I think have to wait for the HR to find out the reason. I cant do anything at the mean time. Added on July 12, 2011, 11:04 amI emailed the HR ard. No response from her yet. Now waiting for her reply and update. BTW, will the HR know the reason of why the application is rejected? FYI, your HR can call to clarify with MOM officer. Just wait for him/her to get back to you. Rejection can be of a few reasons. Insufficient supporting documents, Status wrongly stated, and more.

If your HR act fast, everything can be done in just a week time. But, you got to wait for 2nd week to get your EP card or later depends on your appointment with MOM as it takes four working days for MOM to issue you the card.

I only started work after I got my card. ------------------ On an unrelated issue, I have tried signing up a line at 3 singtel and m1 outlets but all the branches refused to sign me up due to <6 months EP validity. Zzzzzzz.....guess I got no choice but to ask my boss to write a letter to indicate his intention of extending my pass. Yes, you can start work with IPA provided you have a valid visit pass.
