QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Jul 28 2011, 12:49 PM) ok la, kesian see no ppl reply you. all those "atas" people doesn't bother to reply to ppl looking for cheap jobs. tq bro for your reply.. and i'm really appreciate it. i've been thinking about this job for quite few times.. i think i'm gonna roll the dice after raya. thanks again ya Basically Auxilary Police is smth like Police Bantuan in Singapore. They will be placed at checkpoints (Woodlands, Harbour Front, Tuas and Changi Airport) to assist police to control traffic, control crowd etc etc. Sometimes when there is big events, Auxilary Police will help to control the crowd as well (like Rela in Malaysia). 1 thing is I see some Auxilary Police do carry guns. So they are like 70% police in my opinion (correct me if i am wrong). but their job is mainly to control crowd and may be their empowerment is less compare to real Police. As far as i know, no accommodation is provided, you need to go through 3-6 months training for the position. Their pay is consider not bad, if not mistaken, its $1.6-$1.8k basic, If + allowance and OT, will get $2.3-$2.5k, Not a bad option to start in SG. They also have ranking like police, so mayb you can climb higher if you are good. |

QUOTE(icycokes @ Jul 28 2011, 04:29 PM) i must warn you that working as a Auxiliary police in spore is a very tough job. besides the mundane boring working job scope, they require you to work long hours (here i mean more than 12 hours a day). the turnover rate for the position is very high, and they are always recruting because they are always shorthanded. overall from what u said is same like working in malaysia as a Supervisor at any perlabuhan.. my frend work as a supervisor at perlabuhan klang.. quite hard to meet him after he work there.. he said, go home only for eat n sleep oni... dont have much time to go outside with frend.. only can during offday. the payment is around rm2.5k.. this job offers around rm3.6k... quite tempting. huhu.. i've got degree, now i work at one of a big companies in MY, but the post is not for a degree holder.. i need to work from below... and the pay is very low... thats why i keep thinking about this job.. i already tried soo many job application.. but still hard to get one.. even i apply a bank jr officer post, still didnt get it.. most people quit because cannot stand of it. there must be some reasons why they pay you so well of its simple work tasks. you will be working like a security guard. probably with no gun.. i am not sure but when last time i enquire about this job i was told no gun were to be given. if you see an aux with gun, then he must be a real cop. but that doesnt really matter.. make sure you can withstand these - extreme long working hours (often need to work more than 12 hours a day) - hard to apply for leave or MC (even when you sick your supervisor will force you to come work, because there is no one else to substitute you.. yes they are that shorthanded) - tough working environment (sometime when they assign you to some events you cant even go to lunch/dinner or even go to toilet) just sharing some insights here. i almost took up this job last time after my STPM. now i am glad i didnt. honestly, i'm not gud in english oral.. but my english is not bad.. i've got band 4 in MUET.. my only the problem is the speaking thing.. i hope if i got to SG, maybe i can improve my english communication... i wanna be better.. *is this a gud choice or not...? hope someone here can give some opinion... *thanks to all of u here for give some advice about this job.. its really makes me thinking more deeply. and sorry for asking too many question, because i need to make sure that my choice is the right one for my future. |

QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Jul 28 2011, 08:47 PM) nothing wrong being a auxilary police. and its a respectable job. but make sure u look a bit ganas type. because u will be controling a bunch of motorcyclist in the morning if u were send to woodlands checkpoint. if u are those lembik type, u sure kena bully gao gao. As you know, those commuting from JB to SG daily on motorcycles are those gangster gangster a bit type. like me, If someone provoke me, sure end up in a fist fight edi. hurm.. my face already got many scars.. sure they think i'm a gangster oso.. thanks bro for your nice info..There was once that ppl are fighting in the immigration because of cut queue. So make sure u are physically fit if you are into that role. But like i said, mayb the 1st 2-3 years u are a low rank ppl. but i do heard that their career path is not bad. |
