Didn't go back to kl yesterday night....end up joining the BERSIH 2.0 Singapore at Hong Lim square today. I was surprised to see quite a large turnout at the park today.

Guys...just a quick one...

Can I signup for an iPhone plan when my EP only has 4 months validity left? I know all telcos have such clause but I'm unsure whether they follow the clause very strictly in practice.

after the approval, can we start work by IPA issued by HR without the EP card 1st?

coz the HR ask us enter sg 1month later after serve my notice here, do check up n straight away start work..

i am wonder, I will enter by passport only?
*
I believe you can start work with just your IPA. One of my indon colleague was like that.

I only started work after I got my card.

------------------

On an unrelated issue, I have tried signing up a line at 3 singtel and m1 outlets but all the branches refused to sign me up due to <6 months EP validity. Zzzzzzz.....guess I got no choice but to ask my boss to write a letter to indicate his intention of extending my pass.

merely the international pass port can consider a valid visit pass? mayb HR will only give me the IPA letter when i first day working.
*
The white cad + the stamp on your passport upon entering sg is your valid visit pass. Coupled together with your IPA letter, you are legally allowed to work in sg.

You need to print out the IPA letter to show to the custom officer before entering sg. Ask your hr to send you the soft copy.

Guys and Gals, what's the requirement for opening an account @ OCBC ?
The reason stated don't sounds right. Usually MOM will tell which criteria that doesn't meet..... Have you try applying other company at the same time?
*
For my ocbc passbook savings account, I had to present to them my passport, EP card, tenancy agreement (to verify mailing address) and S$500 (minimum account opening balance).

If you're on postpaid you need to call Digi and activate roaming first.

My iPhone managed to connect to Starhub but was unable to make calls at all. Guess it's just credit expired. Thank god this phone is not sim locked.

but the system used by employer to check our status is also EPonline isnt it?
Or they have separate system for employer?
*
It is. I strongly believe the system that employer and applicant use are same. Shortly after my pass was approved on EPOnline, I was informed by HR over the phone.

I suggest you speak nicely to your hiring manager. If the hiring manager is not interested to help you, then you should forget about it and move on.
