Don't be so cheapo!! I lost totally 2K realised in stock market.
I am being so cheapo, keep stingy on food and rental, after that I lost in useless things.
Cheapo people will get their money run away on useless things.
Do you agree? What I learnt, I should contribute my money to church.

Cheapo people should work less since they don't need much income to survive.

They should enjoy life as it is regardless of money they have.

Church? Temple? Yes I will donate if they use it to help the needly but not to pay super high salary to its management.  I think some church and temple here are just too rich.

just give to poor church, don't pay to rich church. Poor church is more welcome.

I don't dispute this at all. I do think Singapore is expensive. Farking expensive. Dwellings and cars are many times my annual salary.

I also think KL is farking expensive though. Dwellings and cars are also many times my annual salary.

Earn SGD, spend RM. Now... that's when the magic happens  icon_rolleyes.gif SG is the only place you can do this very effectively.

Australia is better than us now. Earn aud tospend STD there. Tofind wife in St difficult, you have to ear 5c

When i first came to singapore, i rented with an older single lady, a divorcee mind you and i quickly found out why she became a divorcee and why she constantly blames her husband for her failed marriage. Plus she's the religious type.

So i too would suggest that the last option is to rent from a single older lady. Gay's i;ve found are very accommodating as a landlord. So long as you tell them your straight as an arrow.

I prefer single old lady than the unstable college students.

When I was in college, I rented a room from an old lady and her spinster daughter. Suffice it to say, there was very little privacy and I rarely got to do what I wanted.

After that, I have never lived with a landlord/landlady ever again. If I had to work harder, take a night job at 7-11... whatever, I made sure I always rented my own place. Right now, I smell like foreign workers from the MRT, sprawled on my couch, surfing, watching TV, 3 fans on, not wearing any pants... and no one can stop me ;p

are you in a studio meh, no housemate?

Why don't you walk to work instead of taking transport or share your room with someone (or more)? You can save hundreds more.

You are not frugal. Not thinking of financial independence?
*
why do you ask me back?
My office is in the industrial area, don't have a place to live. You will see Tuas and Kranji does not have HDBs there.
If I have to live near my office, it will be 20 mins and I need a car to drive, no transport there in rural area.
Share room with someone is not comfortable, share a unit is still ok.. Now, I will look for the cheaper housing rental.
Btw, which one is more important for you, TIME or MONEY?

I need to follow you become a single forever alone so I can save more money and living comfortably alone in the big place

Why not? Quit pro quo.

Both are important and they are not mutually exclusive.

why don't you buy a studio or 2BR? it's cheaper to pay the maintenance too.
So are you introvert person? How if your neighbour play music loud?

Why am I introverted? I just don't like living with strangers. I have no need to.

He can do whatever he wants as long as it's within the law.

Most landlords have this rule if they are also living in the house. Especially if their family is also staying there.

IMHO, it's understandable. If I were the landlord, I wouldn't want to have strangers (ie. non-tenants or best case, non-regular visitors) having a free run of my house, using my stuff, contaminating my fridge, washing machine, utensils etc. One week, it's this friend. Next week, it's that friend... for instance. And if something is broken or stolen/lost, who's going to blame whom?

I rented 3 rooms in one year when I was in college. 2 out of 3 were okay with me bringing back a gf and she stays over, but had to make sure she doesn't walk around in the middle of the night in her underwear or something (or nothing) etc. All were okay to have my parents stay a night or two if they visited. But none would let me bring back friends to hangout, definitely not overnight.

Singapore is practically a nation of home owners / (potential) landlords.

Added on August 1, 2011, 6:05 pmEveryone needs motivation, right?

Added on August 1, 2011, 6:06 pmMaybe I want to continue bringing gfs home. Having a wife will sort of stop all that, isn't it?

Haha are you playboy? Btw, sean you told you have property in sg . Why do you still rent? You prefer malay or sg galz? Sg gal is difficult to approach if don't have money?
