Hi guys, I'm an IT graduate just fresh out of the woodwork and I'm planning to work in Singapore for the next few years of my life if things work out. I'll be going there around there next week to scout for a suitable position, so I would highly appreciate if anyone could give some pointers on what to do there. Also, I've noticed the recent 1st July changes regarding the criteria required to fulfill to qualify for an EP, which mentions that a professional has to have a base pay of at least 2.8K SGD. Does this mean that in the event that an employer decides to hire a foreigner, they MUST pay him/her this amount, by minimum? In my view, I don't think any company is in the right mind to pay a freshie this much. If I manage to find an employer, but I fail to get an EP or S pass from MOM, does this mean that the outcome will be the same even if another employer is willing to hire me? Anyone has good and useful tips, please do. Next TT is on me if I get a job there

Is it necessary to show your Malaysian address and contact number on your CV when applying for jobs in Singapore?

Just confirming, Malaysians can stay in Singapore for 30 days? If I exhaust the allowed stay period there, would it be more practical to apply for a longer visit pass or to exit and re-enter the country?

QUOTE(tailtwist @ Aug 3 2011, 01:16 PM) Think u can extend your stay for another 30 days....after that u have to exit..there's like a max stay of 60 days in at 90 days period...then not sure if there's a cooling off period. Try this link http://www.ica.gov.sg/services_centre_over...aspx?pageid=376Please do some homework...... I know you guys here must be tired of answering the same things again and again, but thanks for the affirmation

Just arrived in SG a few hours ago.
Speaking of the embarkation/disembarkation card, I placed 14 days as my period of stay, and the passport stamp stated 30 days.
Will there be any implications if I stayed longer than 14 days from my date of arrival, but less than 30 days as stated on the stamp?

QUOTE(tailtwist @ Aug 7 2011, 07:50 AM) No issue...there's standard stamp is normally 30days...even if its like a 2-3 days of short trip....they'll still stamp a 30days Thanks tailtwist. Will probably be staying here for the next 30 days, which I'll have to enter and exit Singapore again. Hope that two months would be more than enough for me to find a job here
